The Ansmann N-40 Power Battery Grip is a powerful and versatile accessory for the Nikon D40, D40x & D60 SLR Digital Cameras. It replaces the standard battery source with its own built-in, rechargeable, high-capacity battery pack (non-removable). In addition, it provides a vertical grip, which makes holding the camera in the vertical orientation as easy and secure as in the horizontal position.
The built-in rechargeable Li-Ion 2200 mAh battery eliminates the need of having to charge and carry around multiple battery clusters. The built-in battery can be used for thousands of pictures before having to be recharged.

Comments about Ansmann N-40 Power Battery Grip:
The battery holds a charge. I guess that deserves 2 stars. I missed that there wasn't a trigger on the vert, also.

Comments about Ansmann N-40 Power Battery Grip:
The Ansmann N-40 Power Battery Grip is poorly designed and it does not fit perfectly well into the Nikon D40 Camera. I had to force some what to fit the the grip into the unit without breaking the base unit (camera body) and again it does not fit well into the unit at all. I would not recommend to anyone unless otherwise it is an absolute necessary. Well, this unit is the only kind available for D40 model.

Comments about Ansmann N-40 Power Battery Grip:
The grip doesn't fully tighten down on the base of my D-40. I don't dare tighten it further lest I strip the screws. However, it attaches well enough to work. The loose fit is merely annoying. Before you can install the grip, you must remove the camera's battery cover. Open the cover and twist/torque the top down and away from you until it pops out of the housing. It won't snap and should be retained if you intend to use the camera with the standard battery.
Comments about Ansmann N-40 Power Battery Grip:
Purchased this for my D40. The Locking mechanism doesnt secure the grip to the body very securely at all. The Color isn't very close either. Dont bother with this, it makes the D40 look ridiculous. If you want to put a grip on your camera looks like your gonna need a bigger camera.
