The SP2X from Kurzweil is a high-quality stage piano that offers lengendary Kurzweil sound quality at an affordable price. The primary sound of the unit is the Triple Strike Grand Piano, which offers an incredibly high degree of realism and detail. Other great voices include electric pianos, strings, mallet instruments, vocals, and more.
The SP2X also offers 88 full-sized keys with weighted hammer action and adjustable velocity sensitivity. This means the keys feel and play like the keys on an acoustic piano, allowing the player to fully control, in a natural way, the dynamics of his/her playing.
Sixty-four voices of polyphony with dynamic allocation is complemented by sixty-four factory presets. Over sixty-four preset rhythm patterns are available, covering various styles with grooves including ballad, pop, R n' B, dance, rock, funk, country, Latin, jazz and world.

Comments about Kurzweil SP2X - 88-Key Stage Piano with Touch-Sensitive Hammer-Action Keys:
I have always preferred the Kurzweil piano sound to the Clavinova, and the SP2X reinforces that opinion. The grands are excellent and sound like real pianos with no clanky, artificial top end. The honky-tonk piano rocks 8 to the bar like an old 600 pound upright. The dead Rhodes is spot on, as is the Wurlitzer. Phased Rhodes is not as dramatic as I remember but still very good. Vocal patches are superb. Strings and brass are nice but very basic, which is what I expected. Organ sounds are not so hot but the SP2X sits atop my B-3 so I don't care. Drum patterns are good but not as easy to access as I had expected. Familiarity may improve that. Overall, a great sounding instrument at a great price.

We only received the keyboard a few weeks ago but we've played it a ton since then. The piano sound is very realistic, there's lots of features to play around with - it works great! We really haven't had any problems with it so far.
