Comments about Manfrotto 272B Adjustable Background Holder for 9' Paper Rolls - Black:
This holder collapses smaller than the bg bar that came with my stands. I use this to suspend bg paper with bicycle hooks that screw into the ceiling - eliminates problems with kids knocking down the bg holder stands.

Works fine. Better for paper rolls than cloth. Easy to travel with.

Comments about Manfrotto 272B Adjustable Background Holder for 9' Paper Rolls - Black:
Great bar for holding backdrops. I have plenty of stands, so I didn't need the kit to go with it. With a 9 foot by 12 yard roll on it, it sags just a fraction in the center, but nothing to be worried about. If you get a paper roll with a cardboard core, you won't have any problems with this. Great for fabrics as well.

Comments about Manfrotto 272B Adjustable Background Holder for 9' Paper Rolls - Black:
I bought this background bar for location work - it's compact and sets up super quick without the need for super clamps as opposed to other more basic segmented bar systems. The screw-lock segments are a neat idea, but if they get over-tightened, it's a pain to get them loose again. Fortunately, the locks aren't really necessary for reliable operation and the segments hold their position on friction alone. The only thing that's lacking in this bar is that it won't accommodate backgrounds larger than 9', but I don't really need backgrounds that big on location, so this works great.

Comments about Manfrotto 272B Adjustable Background Holder for 9' Paper Rolls - Black:
I've used this for paper rolls, but also for hanging loose fabric.
PRO: It's lightweight & telescopes down to a transportable length.
CON: It's lightweight, which worries me that it will break - but in several years' steady use, it hasn't. On occasion I've had trouble twisting (unlocking) its sections, to make it expand or contract.
