Comments about Giottos MM 8680 Carbon Fiber Monopod:
I've been looking for a mono pod for some time now, and I didn't want to spend a lot of money, and I need one to hold my 400 2.8 and 1d iv, and boy did I find one! The build is unbelievable, light weight, and is very compact once retracted. The rubber foot at the bottom gives you great support, and it makes it easy to keep still. The legs lock smooth and fast. You won't be upset when you get this....

Comments about Giottos MM 8680 Carbon Fiber Monopod:
The top section of the monopod is very difficult to extend...and the rubber foot feels like it will break off any minute...but it's a great unit. Light weight and sturdy at the same time. VERY well made.

I have had good success using this monopod with image stabilized canon telephoto lenses when wind wouldn't allow use of the lenses alone.

Comments about Giottos MM 8680 Carbon Fiber Monopod:
I am six foot six. This monopod puts the camera comfortably at my eye level without feeling wobbly. I use it for nature photography with my Nikon D3X. I've found that the D3X produces so much resolution, that a monopod really helps. Even the slightest shake becomes visible in 25 megapixel shots. I just wish the collars locked a little tighter. Sometimes, when I think they are tight, I feel the sections slowly collapsing while I'm shooting.

Comments about Giottos MM 8680 Carbon Fiber Monopod:
I use this for all-purpose video and still photography, mainly outdoors, often when traveling by plane. It packs small, yet holds anything I can put on it. Very lightweight. Replaces an old friend that finally succumbed to corrosion, so I'm thinking the carbon fiber should resist that better. Multiple segments means more work to fully extend and collapse, but this trade-off is well worth the other advantages for me. I don't mind spending a few bucks more for something I can use with any future gear. A good value.

Comments about Giottos MM 8680 Carbon Fiber Monopod:
I use this product, on field and on my work photograph. Which is taking pictures on events with low light. It's very practical and the thing that I wanted, which is that the monopod is very high.
The price is a bit high but, when U need a tool, you just need it.
I think is something that any photographer need to have.

Use the monopod to steady shaking from hands, rest arms for a long shooting time with heavy camera/lens combo, in situations where a tripod would be too awkward to carry around set up.

Comments about Giottos MM 8680 Carbon Fiber Monopod:
I bought this monopod strictly for its expansion height. It works great, collapes to a very compact size and is extremely lightweight.
