I use the CD-RW900SL to record audio (CDs) at conferences. We do video and audio. The controls are intuitive. The CDs is produces are excellent. The display is easy to read. I like the slot load/unload, no drawer to stick out. The only feature I would have liked but did not get with this unit would be a timed option to split tracks automatically. My cell phone has a timer on it so no problem there because there is a manual split track button on the control panel. Also, it does have an adjustable volume based track splitter.

I've had two of these units (Tascam CD-RW900SL)the past 6 days and neither performed the way they should have straight out of the box. Both units I bought took forever to read the TOC. The first would be very intermittent to play cuts above track 80 from my test discs. The second unit worked well for 10 minutes, but now I get a disc error with any disc I try to load, including brand new "gold" CDs. I'm going to make the 60 mile round trip to GC one more time to try another. If this doesn't work correctly, I'm done.

Comments about Tascam CD-RW900SL - Rack Mount Slot-Loading CD Recorder with MP3 Playback:
We use it to record Worship Services. Very simple, volunteer friendly operation . . . Pop in a CD, push record, push play, finalize - CD is ready to do its job for our parishioners. Built durable. Easy set up. Does not need specific CD blanks. All make for a great worship recorder.

Comments about Tascam CD-RW900SL - Rack Mount Slot-Loading CD Recorder with MP3 Playback:
I purchased this product for a local church to record the services. It works great as expected. Trying the features out before installation, it can change the pitch and octive of the CD only. It can also pause the recording when there is silence for X amount of seconds to save space on the CD then resume when the decibels are above a certain limit. The only con I have is when playing a CD with mp3 files, it plays certain mp3 files multiple times in a row even though it is on the disc one time. Other than that, I like it. I would purchase one if the need arises.

These machines are solid and dependable. I use them daily to complete a 16 bit mix off the mixer console or a 2 track mastering tape deck. They seem to accept all major manufactures CD's with no issues.

Comments about Tascam CD-RW900SL - Rack Mount Slot-Loading CD Recorder with MP3 Playback:
I purchased the 900Sl mostly to make high quality transfers of my vinyl. It certainly does that well. The levels & menu system are easy to use and I found the sound quite pleasing to my ears on playback. My only beef with the 900SL is one of the features that I really wanted -- the auto-detect/new track application -- is completely unreliable, actually it seems to be totally random. I burned through several disks, records, levels, etc. and found I could not repeat the same results. Basically this function is useless. So one will have to manually insert new tracks when transferring an album. This sure doesn't seem like a big engineering feat to get right...

Comments about Tascam CD-RW900SL - Rack Mount Slot-Loading CD Recorder with MP3 Playback:
Purchased to record church worship services. Easy to operate for volunteer tech crew. We were able to preset input levels so that no distortion occurs. Only drawback is there is no "timed" track insertion. But for the price it's a real deal of a recorder. A lot of bang for your buck.

Comments about Tascam CD-RW900SL - Rack Mount Slot-Loading CD Recorder with MP3 Playback:
We use the Tascam to record worship services and it records crystal clear and is easy to operate. It did reject some generic CDRs but loved the Verbatim CDRs bought with the unit. So be careful with the CDR brands you buy. We especially like creating new tracks by just clicking REC where you want the new track to start and end during the recording. Makes separating the sermon from the rest of the service easy!

Comments about Tascam CD-RW900SL - Rack Mount Slot-Loading CD Recorder with MP3 Playback:
Nice quality unit. Chassis is professional grade. BH dropped the price a couple days after I ordered and passed the reduction along making this a more attractive piece, but there really isn't much competition for this space.
A couple of nits. You can use a PC keyboard which speeds title typing, but you need a keyboard with a PS2 type connector. Not easy to find. No connectors of any sort --- digital, optical, or even RCA --- in the box.

This is one of the best sounding CD player recorder. It is also extremely easy to use. The time to erase the disk and to finalize the disc is fast. Good value. The only issue that some of the older cd rewriteable disc is not compatible with this recorder.

We use this unit and another of the previous versions is in two of our four Sanctuaries. We have been recording sermons for several years with no issues of any kind. The CD-RW900SL has easier to use controls and is sure to continue with the quality I've come to expect. With the advent of SD and other digital recording formats,I would like to see the price of these become more competitive.

Comments about Tascam CD-RW900SL - Rack Mount Slot-Loading CD Recorder with MP3 Playback:
We use the product to record worship services at our church. We had previously used another brand, but find the TEAC to be superior in every way. It's easy to use, finalizes CDs quickly and will operate with a standard recordable CD unlike the other brand we used that required a special "music" CD.
