Comments about Tascam CD-RW901SL - Slot-Loading CD Recorder w/ MP3 Playback and XLR Connectors:
One of the best parts of this deck is it will record on any CD you give it. It has great sound and is easy to use. Another plus is it has balanced ins and outs. There are way more features than I will ever need for live to CD.

Comments about Tascam CD-RW901SL - Slot-Loading CD Recorder w/ MP3 Playback and XLR Connectors:
Have been using this product in my home studio for 2 months now and overall am pleased with it's performance. Works well with different brands of CD-Rs. I don't believe it burns in true real time as it uses a DVD drive (these burn at 16x in short bursts from buffer memory). My only complaint is that the auto fade does not work smoothly (fades at the same rate no matter the time setting, then cuts out).

Comments about Tascam CD-RW901SL - Slot-Loading CD Recorder w/ MP3 Playback and XLR Connectors:
We use this for recording live concerts and recitals. We have tracked thousands of event and never missed a beat. I don't like the slot loading, but it works just fine and I have never had a problem with it. We use these units with externat converters so I can't speak to the AtoD. The cheaper version of this with out analogue XLR and AES-EBU is just as good. If you were to be tracking from a SPDIF source I would buy that one instead.

I've used this recorder to provide cds for uil band performances for the last couple of days. The recorder has worked well without a glitch. Finalizing is very fast. My wishes are de-tented analog input controls.

Comments about Tascam CD-RW901SL - Slot-Loading CD Recorder w/ MP3 Playback and XLR Connectors:
This is a replacement for Tascam CC-222 MK III, which is a tape/CD combination recorder. CC-222 usually last about 2-3 years.
I've bough 3 units of CD-RW901SL so far they're all good for long recording sessions (> 60min).

Comments about Tascam CD-RW901SL - Slot-Loading CD Recorder w/ MP3 Playback and XLR Connectors:
I run a recording studio in Albany, New York, "old school" compared to my contemporaries. I still burn CDs in real time, sometimes incrementing track numbers manually, and I gotta say this unit is the best one I've ever used: every "thoughtful" feature is included. It will take signals from any digital or analog source, the monitoring is excellent, and if you attach a keyboard you can name tracks. When I say "thoughtful," I mean just that-- the designers apparently have confronted all the tangled little details you run up against when burning CDs and come up with solutions. The menus and options are deep and all-inclusive. I am totally digging it-- um, translated? It rocks.
