As advertised, you can pretty-much clamp anything at an appropriate angle for optical use ... cameras, binoculars, small telescope, etc.
However, as a suggestion, the ability to "vary" the grip would be extremely useful(being able to change the grip "teeth") and would add very little cost to manufacture it.
Offering a vrsion with a wider grip would be good as well.
Other than that, you might call it a clamp for all seasons.
