Comments about Sonnet FireWire + USB 2.0 ExpressCard/34 Expansion Card:
Although Firewire is played out and most still do not use..I am in the Recording Audio/Post Production Industry and there are some hardware equipment that I stil use that have Firewire400. This is excellent piece with an extra added USB. Works perfectly with my Macbook Pro. I dont have all the USB next to each other enabling me to have some play room and plug multiple flash drives, or dongle keys in.

Works great for the 17" MacbookPro when you need fire-wire 400. I had several video cameras and drives that used fire-wire 400 and this Card does the trick.

Comments about Sonnet FireWire + USB 2.0 ExpressCard/34 Expansion Card:
I needed a Firewire 400 port for my new MacbookPro. The Sonnet Technologies Firewire and USB card gave me exactly what I needed...additional ports. Took the card out of the box, pushed it into the card slot and BAM! everything works perfectly. Easy to remove. Excellent product...highly recommended.

Comments about Sonnet FireWire + USB 2.0 ExpressCard/34 Expansion Card:
I have this installed on my Macbook Pro (unibody, 17 inch). I have the USB port connected to a small hub which is running an external back up hard drive and external USB speakers. Both the drive and speakers connect fine. I use one firewire port for a different external hard drive that I keep media files on, and the other firewire port for capturing video from my Canon HV20. Both uses of the ports work fine. The card is hot swappable which is nice incase I need to take it out when traveling.
The only downside is that it sticks out horizontally from the computer about 2 inches and is thicker than the computer.

Comments about Sonnet FireWire + USB 2.0 ExpressCard/34 Expansion Card:
If you do not have a firewire port in your nootebook (and has a Express card/34 slot) by one. Fast, easily recognized by Windows Vista, hot swappable, add two FW and one USB 2 port.
