Comments about Kodak EasyShare V1253 Digital Camera (Black):
I just bought this camera as an upgrade from my canon s30 digital camera. though the canon is still in good condition, it became kind of heavy and slow. i have bought a Kodak for my girlfriend the camera was somewhat, as good as the canon. which then cost me $600 and change. i wanted something lightweight with video capabilities that would not restrict me of time capacity. yeap! my canon had the 30sec. deal. I read canon no longer has this problem, yet i felt drawn to the Kodak. it sort of reminded me of the s70 black canon. but with a trim. i was skeptical at the hd upgrade and to tell you the truth, i do not care much for the 12mp. i have been using the panoramic settings. though it too take a lot of your memory at 9mp. the high ISO is a hit. if you are like me, a guy who uses the flash as a filler not as flash light, than you might want to lower your Mp down to 3Mp. this will give you the chance to use the light of your surroundings rather than the one on your camera. why is this good? well, you could get close to live imagery and a cinematic effect on each Pic. i was a none believer and this little wonder, though it has a very tiny lens, has the resolution that would make all your pics look quite professional. i would recommend this for the photographers on the go. also, if you are spontaneous and forgot your equipment both, video and SLR, this is a good way to save the day. you will love how the button and keys are set. it is truly a functional design that wont compromise space. very tiny. also, the best deal in the market, for the same price you will only get the 12 mp. the video performance is GREAT! the only thing i find very annoying, is the fact the camera needs a little adapter for the usb. the charger comes separately and you need to use the camera as a charger. something i did not have to worry about with the canon s30, which had a stand alone charger. just think about it. i am a guy who likes to buy more than one battery. i love to leave one charging at home while i go out and use the camera.
Expertise: Expert
Problems Encountered: No separate stand alone charger and need a computer to charge. or a plug the connects to an outlet for extra money.it has very small lens for such a big looking 3x zoom
Previous Equivalent Item Owned: Canon s30, Nikon d50, Nikon f70
Items I Recommend: batteries, case, 4gig HCsd card, small tripod for slow shutter pics.
