Comments about Sigma EF-530 DG ST i-TTL Shoe Mount Flash (Guide No. 174'/53 m at 105mm) for Nikon with i-TTL:
I was looking for an a reasonably priced flash unit that would extend my flash distance of my Nikon D3000 for taking group photos. The Sigma has everything that I asked for.
Reasonable price, easy to use, good power, light weight, and not complicated.
Not a lot of power options, but I can compensate for that in other ways.
Given the choice to buy this unit or another system, I would still buy the Sigma EF-530 DG ST i-TTL.

Comments about Sigma EF-530 DG ST i-TTL Shoe Mount Flash (Guide No. 174'/53 m at 105mm) for Nikon with i-TTL:
Using the flash for outdoor nightime high school football.
Has good output for this use, similar to my Nikon SB800.
Easy to use controls. TTI controls works as expected with both my Nikon D70 and my Nikon D200.
Few instuctions were included with the flash. Overall a great buy.

Ez to use, get apx 300 shots out of a set of batteries, has drop down diffuser that I didn't see in the description.. Bounce and roated every where, really like how far it roates! Haven't really measured for sure but it hits full coverage in night rodeo action at 40 ft..

This is the first Sigma non-lense product I've tried and so far it seems like a great value versus the similar Nikon strobe.

Comments about Sigma EF-530 DG ST i-TTL Shoe Mount Flash (Guide No. 174'/53 m at 105mm) for Nikon with i-TTL:
Used for better more creative lighting effects on camera. More range and power than the pop up provided on the D40.
Simple to use but that could be a drawback for more serious flash photography users. For me it tilts and swivels. It uses i-TTL and has a manual High and a manual Low setting.
If i were to require anything more from the flash, i would by strobes and such or bunch of the SB-600's and set them off camera.

I am a casual photographer, who had the flip flash die. Rather than the hefty repair fee, I purchased this flash instead. It syncs well with my Nikon D70, the flash though artificial, looks natural. I would recommend this flash.

Comments about Sigma EF-530 DG ST i-TTL Shoe Mount Flash (Guide No. 174'/53 m at 105mm) for Nikon with i-TTL:
I have tried out the new flash with my Nikon D80 and found that I can shoot flash pictures in a very fast sequence. Example shoot 10 - 12 shots one after the other and I get about 8 good flash shots out of the 10 - 12 shots. Of course with fresh batteries

Comments about Sigma EF-530 DG ST i-TTL Shoe Mount Flash (Guide No. 174'/53 m at 105mm) for Nikon with i-TTL:
I bought this flash unit, because my SB900 would freeze up at the little bit of overheating, right when the bride was coming down the aisle.
I started using this flash more and more, now I only use the SB900 for still formals. This is even better than the more expensive Sigma flash of the same name.
