I use this ring flash for macro photography of flowers insects and other slow moving objects. It is great for that purpose. It is easy to use easy to understand and seems to be very durable. It is a bit underpowered for longer shots and I would not recommend it for use in portraiture. If you need a low cost macro solution this is it.

Comments about Bower Macro Ringlight Flash:
I had my Bower Ringflash working for only one month. I chose the Bower because it was lighter and my lenses could´t work with my old flash due to its heavy weight. Now it does´t work with the camera. When testing it works but when the photo is taken...nothing!! My camera is working just fine with my old ring flash .

Comments about Bower Macro Ringlight Flash:
I wanted mostly for portrait photography, to do something different, but it has no power control on manual, which makes it difficult to avoid harsh or dull lights. Have not tested it on macro, but expect to be better.

I ordered this product in order to take close up pictures at a wedding. Unfortunately I could never get it synced to my rebel t2i. It would flash for a couple photos and then would not work for another fifteen. I could never get it to function properly. It never worked right for the wedding. I just returned it recently. Wish I knew how it performed, however, I could never get it to work correctly.

Comments about Bower Macro Ringlight Flash:
This flash is excellent for macro work and lite portraits, i was disappointed that it didn't come with a 49-52mm filter as well but in todays digital age 52mm is the standard. This flash works well with my Olympus om10 with the 50mm f1.8 attached film camera overall recommended for macro lens unfortunately it doesn't work to well with fujifilm hs10 i will test it a little more before i writ it off......

Just getting into macrophotography,. this is a great buy. It's easy to attach to your camera and it doesn't seem to "eat" batteries...
I love it!

I use this for coin and stamp macros and find it fulfills all my needs. It is also great for pet photography. I usually bracket the exposures for best results. I am not disappointed.

I use for close pictures indoors and out 4-5 inches. Works great up close but this is not a general fill flash.
Great fill and control. Lens mounts are awesome
Be careful with angle to prevent glare. Amazing cheap

It's a really good flash for people learning different lighting and techniques that's for sure.
I have just got mine in the mail today and it's working fantastic right out of the box. I would definitely recommend this product for more causal photographers.

Comments about Bower Macro Ringlight Flash:
I bought this flash because I needed a ring flash with good power that I could use on manual. I did not need TTL metering or other features, so it filled the bill nicely. I'm some what concerned with the build quality but the price is so reasonable I can replace it and still be ahead. Satisfied so far.
