The Sigma 530ST DG ST TTL Shoe Mount Flash is Sigma's economical full-TTL flash, and has been updated with improved coverage range and a stronger power output. It features a powerful Guide Number of 174'/53 m at 105mm, and covers a focal range from 24mm to 105mm. This flash provides full TTL operation with digital SLR cameras, including full ADI operation with applicable cameras.
Just as with many of Sigma's products, you will find features on the 530-ST that normally would only be associated with much more expensive flashes. The perfect economical all-around flash for any digital or 35mm autofocus SLR shooter.

As a snapshot photographer with a lower-end DSLR, the Sony A200, I was pretty appalled by the high price of flash units--I winced at the prospect of paying more for a good flash than I had paid for the camera! Sigma's Alpha compatible EF-530 DG ST TTL unit solved my problem and works beautifully, giving me enough flash depth and adjustable angle options for family and group pictures in dimly lit rooms and cheap restaurants. I don't construct complex lighting arrangements, which this unit might not handle; but if you are a photographer who likes to do a lot of spontaneous work with small but unruly groups of people, and who isn't rich, the EF-530 is a great deal.

Good Value
Lightweight, but really big. Still, a good flash for the money.

Comments about Sigma EF-530 DG ST TTL Flash for Sony Digital:
I bought this unit to replace an existing EF-500 and I am extremely happy with the results.
This flash is inexpensive and just as powerful as the Sony HVL42-AM
I use this with a Sony A550 for nightlife photography and get consistant results every time.
My only complaint is limited power settings, TTL, Low & High output (no steps)
It would be nice to have a little more manual control.

Easy to use, with room to learn. Flash has many features, some of which will allow you to grow into the flash, but not being to hard to use 'out of the box'. Good build quality. Does everything is said it would and more!

Comments about Sigma EF-530 DG ST TTL Flash for Sony Digital:
I use it on short range photography (inside house, not too dark parties etc.) and meanwhile it feets my expectations.
Comments about Sigma EF-530 DG ST TTL Flash for Sony Digital:
I bought this for my digital Sony SLR and it is wonderful especially in low light conditions. The flash rebounds quickly. Just bring extra batteries, after about an hour of solid use it will slow down.

Good powerful flash unit for reasonable cost. Not a lot of features relative to the higher end models, but gives lots of raw power with accurate exposure linkage to camera.
