Seemed very low budget and not practical usages of light... Only covered simple lighting and if there was more advanced lighting he didn't go into detail about why and how it was set up. Used a manakin for a model and didn't seem like that was real enough because all the talent or subjects I've shot are alive and move and call for more challenging approaches to lighting them. Over all it was a disappointment to watch.

I found the 1st third of the video useful and informative but because I am not doing any lighting for interviews or Chroma Key the last portions were not as relevant to me.

I think this DVD contains useful info for people who are getting started in the video business and have little or no clue as to what lighting is, or how to use correct lighting in their videos.
What I like the most, is that it is very clear, it doesn't use big technical words, and the examples and excercises are pretty straight forward.
What I think it's missing, is the lack of more examples, and the lack of in-depth explanations of the lighting components (such as the use of gels, refractors, etc).
Other than that, I think it's a good tutorial.

if your just getting into lighting this is a great dvd! I wish I had it when getting my start. Don't expect super technical with this one, but still well done and good info.

I was hesitant to spend the money. As soon as I saw the first 5 minutes I forgot all about the price. Glad I didn't pass it up. Really good info without wasting any time. Well done. Also shows why you need certain components for your light kit without assuming you want to spend a lot of money. Shows how to get the job done.
