- This unit uses specific Dolby Digital and DTS codecs to reproduce an enveloping 5.1-Channel surround sound experience. The unit encodes Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital EX, Dolby Pro Logic II, Dolby Pro Logic IIx, DTS, DTS 96/24, DTS-ES Discrete/Matrix 6.1, DTS Neo:6, and XM Surround.

- By monitoring and analyzing the sound with the microphone included with the YSP-3000, IntelliBeam automatically sets the best beam angles, while optimizing the level and frequency response of each beam.
- My Surround Mode
- This projector offers a wide variety of beam settings. My Surround uses a combination of DiMagic and Yamaha technology. The My Beam setting focuses the sound at a specific listening position, so even in noisy surroundings you can hear dialogue and other sounds clearly.
- High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI)
- If you're looking to pump high-definition DVD playback into your HD displays or projectors, this unit will do the job. It has an integrated digital processor capable of transferring 1080p HD video signals through the HDMI output. HDMI supports standard, enhanced, or high-definition video, plus multi-channel digital audio on a single cable.
- XM Satellite Radio with XM-HD Surround
- Simply plug an XM Connect and Play (optional) digital accessory into the projector's XM-Ready receiver, and activate the XM (optional) service to start receiving uninterrupted radio programming of your choice.
