The JVC GZ-HD3 Camcorder enables you to shoot in full 1920 x 1080 HD to an internal 60GB hard drive, providing the clearest video when viewed on your HDTV. The internal hard drive provides a tape free format with an SD/SDHC expansion memory card slot, in case you need more room to record or to capture still images. Combine this with the compact, modern design of the HD3 and you have a camcorder that not only captures excellent images but can go anywhere you go, without being conspicuous or cumbersome.
The GZ-HD3 comes with a 2.8" Clear LCD display, 10x optical zoom, and three 1/5" CCD image sensors. A Konica Minolta HD lens provides strong, clear images every time you shoot. The Auto Illumi. Light function assists you by automatically turning on when shooting in low-light situations. The Power-Linked operation makes sure you get every shot by automatically turning the camera on as soon as the LCD screen is opened, and saves battery power by turning off as soon as the LCD screen is closed.

- By dedicating each of the 3 CCD Sensors to pick up red, green, and blue when shooting the GZ-HD3 provides you with natural color rendition. Pixel Shift Technology shifts the red and blue pixel locations relative to green, quadrupling the color information via interpolation.

I used it to record family vacation to Grand Canyon, Meteor Crater, Petrified Forest, and Painted Dessert in AZ. Shots from my window as the wife drove captured the beauty of sites and the actual drive. Transporting the video to my Laptop's Hard Drive was super easy--just installed their software and hooked up my cam via a USB port and away it went.
Camcorder plays directly to my 1080P LCD TV thru its HDMI output. It even gives you the option of playing of connecting to 1080P LCD TV through component video if you do not have an HDMI port.
Only glitch so far, is I have not figured out how to play High-Definition Videos from my laptop to my 1080P LCD TV but that limitation is probably due to my low cost laptop not having an HDMI port.

it´s a great product, it fits good in the hands, the image is awesome and resolution too.
the problem is the fact that you can't see what you are recording through the dv output and it records in a strange format that you have to install some softwares to view and edit in the computer.

this is a realy good camara, with one limitation when it comes to edditing. the camara shoots in mpeg format but saves the files as a .TOD file its a weird format but its still mpeg you have to send it throw the progam included with the camara by jvc. then produce it and after all of that then you can eddit it with good softwere like final cut pro or premier pro.

Okay, its a great camera filming wise, it shoots great pictures... but, and maybe its just me, I could not get the video to transfer over to my computer... I have windows and I could get the pictures over just fine, but the videos wouldnt work.
