I replaced my 10 x 42 with the 8 x 42 and love the difference. As I get older my hands shake when looking at birds above my head so the slight decrease in magnification works for me.

i have compared this 8x42 HD side by side with Zeiss FL 8x42 and nikon edg 8x42; believe in Leica, this is really worth them money. all three are excellent binoculars but Leica is surely the top in terms of crisp clear image, image of details!
