There is one change I would suggest to improve this case. Include or increase access not only for the video, audio out but also for the media cards as well. As it is, you must flip open the case and keep it open to access and use the media card slots. This is a minor inconvenience since it's the nature of the case to flip closed unless held open.
And yes, there is a clear plastic that surrounds the screen area with openings for the buttons. However, this plastic is not cut out around the speaker area (just above the button that maneuvers you through your selections). Should you use this without headphones this significantly cuts down on the achievable volume. Another note, the mic is also covered by the case. I don't know how this would affect recording for I do not use this portion of the Wolverine.
One last bit, there is no need to take the Wolverine out of the case for recharging since there is an opening cut out for USB ports and dc power supply.
