Joby Gorillapod Flexible Mini-Tripod/Grip for Point & Shoot Cameras - Pink/Black
The Joby Gorillapod is an ultra-versatile mini-tripod that can be used with lightweight compact cameras. Its three multi-segmented flexible legs can be formed to grip almost any protrusion, be it a branch, doorknob, rock, or uneven surface.
Each of the joints can bend and rotate 360°, to wrap around objects. The bottom rubber segment on the legs are larger to allow it to be used in the traditional way.
A mini quick release system allows for fast set-up and removal.

The versatility of the Gorillapod is really spectacular for smaller point and shoot camera's. I have not used the larger version for SLR camera's but it looks just as useful. The bits and pieces come apart a bit too easily when shaping the 'pod but it's really easy to get used to the quirks. perfect for traveling and I find new uses all the time. Perfect idea for a gift purchase to go along with that new little camera.

This crazy little gadget is a very handy tool! So many times you could use a tripod, but who wants to drag around a clunky heavy one? With this light weight little guy, you can carry it with you in your jacket pocket or wrap it around your belt loop, etc. It can be used as a standard tabletop tripod, or on any uneven surface, or wrapped around the nearest tree branch, railing, or whatever you can find. My twin daughters and their friends just love to film themselves acting silly then upload it on the web. When I noticed that someone was always left out holding the camera and how shaky the videos sometimes were, I decided to get them a tripod for Christmas, but I wasn't sure if they would carry one around. However, when I found this little gadget, I knew it was just the thing! It works with digital cameras and well as small digital camcorders. They just love it and so do I. Just watch out that you don't pinch your fingers when bending the legs around.
