The Joby Gorillapod is an ultra-versatile mini-tripod that can be used with lightweight compact cameras. Its three multi-segmented flexible legs can be formed to grip almost any protrusion, be it a branch, doorknob, rock, or uneven surface.
Each of the joints can bend and rotate 360°, to wrap around objects. The bottom rubber segment on the legs are larger to allow it to be used in the traditional way.
A mini quick release system allows for fast set-up and removal.

Whenever I use it in public, it attracts positive attention. The part that attaches to the camera is small and lays almost flush with the camera so I keep it installed permanently. This allows me to quickly connect and disconnect the tripod. (Remember to push in the discreet button that has JOBY written on it to disconnect or you can get frustrated as it really locks in place!) Besides the obvious benefits of owning a stabilizing tripod...The "feet" are a non-skid rubber which is great on slick surfaces. The "leg" joints articulate to handle any circumstance from non-level surfaces to door knobs to tree branches. You'll have fun thinking up creative shots once you have one. It also folds down nicely to fit in the smallest of camera bags.

Is OK for small and light cameras or devices, did not work for my Panasonic DMZ-ZS5, is too unstable and drifts when wrapped around a tree branch or chair. May be good for a cell phone.
I had to order the bigger model with a ball head so I can use it with my other cameras as well, no need to carry 2 mini tripods in my case.

i love it! it's exactly what i was looking for! i use my tripod to my videos for my youtube channel (heyHEYitsmariaa) now i can make my videos from whatever angle i want because i can rap it around anything! all the tall tripods cost a ton of money but this one is cheap and even better because those big ones cant rap around things like this tripod can! and even though its small it can support heavy weighted cameras in any form!

This is light enough to throw in a day pack and take on a hike or vacation.
It grips well and provides enough stability for lower light conditions.

We got the best family pictures on our summer vacation with a Gorillapod. We sat it on uneven rock surfaces and wrapped it around tree branches and light poles. It is compact and lightweight, so it is easy to take along anywhere. The best photo taking accessory we have. We bought one as a Christmas gift too.

Riding a motorcycle solo grants many opportunities for great photos, but I was never in any of them unless I found a stranger to snap a pic of me, uncourse there was not always people around for some of the best shots.
The Joby Gorilla mini tripod allowed my camera to be mounted anywhere, on the motorcycle, a tree, guardrails, signs, to name a few that allowed me to take a self portrait with great scenery in the background.
The unit is well made and very light for packing, just what I wanted.
