Comments about Leica 35mm f/2.5 Summarit-M Manual Focus Lens (Black):
Having the M6 and now the M8.2, cost forced me acquire and shoot with the Zeiss 50 1.5. Not a bad lens but I had always wanted to experience what I was missing with Leica glass. The fast Summilux and Summicron lenses were at the top of my list but the price has kept those out of my reach. That being said I initially felt like I was settling on this little Summarit... NOT SO!
I love the compact size of this lens and although this is an f/2.5 lens, I find that I am able to handhold indoors at ISO 640. The results are stunning and I don't feel like I am missing out on the extra stop(s) that a 2.0 or 1.4 lens will provide. The focusing ring was initially a little on the stiff side but is now silky smooth.
While I still lust after the faster lenses, I am 100% happy that I picked up this lens. This is the lens that is always mounted and its never disappointed me with its color rendition or contrast.
I just wish it came with a lens hood.

Comments about Leica 35mm f/2.5 Summarit-M Manual Focus Lens (Black):
I used this lens for 3 months and obtained excellent images with a M9. It is a wonderful small lens and extremely sharp. Its exactly what a lens should be small, light and best image quality. 35mm is probably the most versatile focal length and it's the lens I use most. Image quality is best at f4-11, but still great wide open. Can't find anything negative to say!

Comments about Leica 35mm f/2.5 Summarit-M Manual Focus Lens (Black):
great lens, i use it on both an MP and an M6. the main reason i wanted a 35mm was to have a lens i could use for everything. i don't enjoy looking like a photographer with a ton of lenses and big ones are not my favorite for what i like to do. optically it works great, it takes the standard 39mm filter thread which makes it compatible with my other ones. the size is great and the lloks are beautifull. 35mm lenses are great also beacause they have a lot of depth of field, so it's great for taking quick pictures, it's really hard to have something out of focus. the field of view is beautifull also. there are only two things i wish were different. first, slow lens by modern leica standars ( but a stop more doubles the prices), so i really wished i had the money for the summicron. so great lens for the low price there. and the other thing. when handling it. it feels just a bit under mechanical leica standards. but don't forget there's no cheaper way to get a BRAND NEW leica lens. so great bang for buck, but that last thing i mentioned give it 4 stars. the other thing. does not come with a hood, and soft puch like other high end. so it feels like leica was cutting corners there.
