Comments about Zeiss Macro 50mm f/2 ZK Makro-Planar T* Manual Focus Lens for Pentax K-Mount Cameras:
90% of my photography involves macros. I've had many macro lenses, but I thought I might give this one a try. Well, I've since sold all others and now this Zeiss is it. It's that good. Brilliant vibrant color reproduction. Buttery smooth bokeh. Excellent contrast and resolving power. Superb sharpness at all apertures. Plus, it can double as a landscape or portrait lens. Yes, it excels in this regard too. Just an all around great performer for any occasion. As an added bonus, you'll never find a better built lens. All metal with wonderful attention to detail and tolerances. A macro isn't a macro unless it can be focused manually. Since this is a manual focus lens, the ring is well dampened and creamy smooth. A joy to use. Words really cannot describe the overall satisfaction that this fine lens brings to the user. I highly recommend anyone interested in what quite possibly might be a future legendary piece of glass to give this one a try. Is there anything not good about this lens? Nope. Not a thing. As my title says...my new benchmark.
