This hook set was very easy to install and seems very sturdy. However, one of the sets was bent in such a way that the lower bracket does not stay in place unless all three rolls are installed. As I need to use this with only one roll on it from time to time (to give maximum height for green screen use), the bracket falls out if I do not tape it in place.

I found this to be an easy purchase. It fits securely to any autopole. The only downside I have is it only comes with two (2) clamps when it needs four (4). After assembly I put my backdrop on it and the hooks began to bow. =?

This hook can only take support rod of diameter about 17mm or 2/3 inch. If you use Manfrotto Expan system, that should be no problem. But I wanted more traditional hanging system for additional strength, so I decided to use 1/2 inch electric conduit pipes, whose outer diameter is about 17mm or 2/3 inch. You can't use 3/4 inch or thicker pipe. Also, 1/2 inch black pipe (for gas lines) will not fit, as they are thicker walled.

1/2 inch conduit pipe is okay but I wish they made it to take 3/4 inch pipes for additional strength.

The reason why I don't like Expan system, where seamless rolls sag at the middle due to lack of core support (Expan supports cardboard core at the ends but not in between).

I purchased this to add to my portable stand so that it would give room for an additonal paper roll. It makes it really heavy on the stand and I think it would be better mounted on the wall.

buy the one with superclamps even if you don't need the calmps on the hooks, it's cheaper then buying the clamps apart and you can never have enough superclamps!
The system itself is easy to use and does the job. But the plastic clips at the bottom fall off very easily. secure them with welcro or screws.
I use the hooks on normal lighting stands and it works like a charm.

Another Quality product from Bogen / Manfrotto. I use this holder and super clamps with the autopoles 2 and find them very well made. The plastic clips used for bottom support should be metal or at leaset secured to the bracket by screws. If used in a permanent set up situation maybe ok but when going from location to location, those plastics clips are gonna get lost. Fortunately for us, upon doing our final check after a recent location teardown we found one of the plastic clips on the floor. We have since applied plastic silicone to the clips to somewhat secure them in place.

Bogen / Manfrotto well it's quality and value all the way, These are really easy to use and work well with the new Autopole 2. I have worked with Manfrotto / Bogen stuff for nearly 30Years and love the stuff. I had an 058 Triat Tripod for twenty years without ever failing, only an accident on my part mede me buy a new one.
