I have always used the AEGIS Professiona Optic Screen Protector on my Nikon D40 and when I purchased a Nikon D40X it was a no brainer to get one for it. The only LCD protector to buy.

I bought this to protect my lcd screen based on its discription. Once it is in place you really cant tell it is there other than it covers the Nikon name and you see Aegis instead. You must be very careful getting it in place once it sticks to the screen its there to stay. The directions give instructions on how to remove it but I don't know if it can be reattached once you take it off.

I have been looking for a screen protector for my D40X since I got it 2 yrs ago, all available was for the high end models. Finally I came across this product. The screen is clean, I can preview the pictures ver clear. Higly recommend it.

D40 has no LCD screen protector like the D300 does. Decided to try this and very happy with it. Very clear and see the screen actually better than through the D300 type plastic protector. It does get smear on it rather easily though.

I like it cause it protects LCD screen from minor accidents and normal wear and tear. It also has all kinds of fancy layers to make the LCD colors still look right. It's removable too by using heat if you ever have the need to get rid of it or replace it.

Put it on my new D40X almost 1 year ago. It worked great. Then on vacation, my D40X fell out of an unzippered camera bag and bounced on a tile floor. The Giotto covering had a stress fracture, but it totally protected the underlying Nikon screen. Amazing product that saved me.

I liked this product. I *really really* liked this product for the ~1.5 weeks (counted, 10 days) that it stayed on my D40. I put it on and the adhesive seemed pretty strong. The glass was beautiful and fit just about perfectly.

However as I mentioned before this product fell off and after a few days of little more than being carried around *inside my camera bag* with nothing rubbing against the screen. The first time I found it in the bag and used the hair dryer method to heat it up and put back on the camera. The second and last time this thing flopped off as I took the camera out of the bag, fell on the ground and got dirty. After that it was rendered virtually useless. The adhesive on this thing (double-sided tape) is about impossible to find in consumer quantities. Once it falls off and gets dirty like mines, forget it. I wouldnt buy this again.
