The bar is lightweight but reasonably strong enough to hold a 9 ft. paper roll.
It closes to a comfortable length for travel. The locking units at the ends fit snuggly over 1/2" light stand tops. Set up by one person is quick and secure.

love manfrotto this thing folds up small and adjusts to hold my 107inch seamless paper perfectly .when you twist the pole to lock it it becomes rigid and very solid the pole has hand bolts on each end to lock it to the light stands. it works great cant be beat for [$] its a no brainer

I like the convenient extension mechanism - just like those in the trekking poles i use for hiking. I can extend it full length for group portraiture, or shrink it to the shortest length and lower the bar over a small table to set up product shots. I have only used this a few times, but it looks durable enough to last me for years.

Does it's job. Holds my 9'ft rolls of seamless with zero problems. Also use it with smaller seamless sizes on a table for product photography. I own two often holding paper with one, and using the other with a super clamp to attach a gridded strobe or softbox overhead of subject (product, person, whatever). Collapses and expands smoothly and easily. Excellent build quality.
I've used cheaper crossbars that were not nearly as nice or well built.
