Excellent color reproduction. This beats any other paper I have used on my Canon pixma pro 9500.

Comments about Ilford Galerie Gold Fibre Silk Paper (Super B, 13 x 19", 50 Sheets):
Great paper for most of my work. Be careful of platen smudging however due to the stiffness and thickness of this paper. Use wide platen gap and make sure the paper is flat.

Comments about Ilford Galerie Gold Fibre Silk Paper (Super B, 13 x 19", 50 Sheets):
Most of my fine art photography is monochrome with variations in split toning. However I do some color work and, so, wanted a single paper that produced excellent results with each type of images. After considerable comparative testing I found what I need in GFS. At a very reasonable price, I find it produces images comparable to the great silver based papers of yesterday. For color images, the results are everything I'm looking for with little gloss differential and none of the plastic high gloss look of so many papers. Baryta coated papers such as GFS are reputed to have a delicate surface, but I've personally not seen any problems when using the paper with my normal handling.

I am a freelance graphic designer and I also do photo restoration. I have an Epson Stylus Photo R1800 and over the years I've tried just about every paper out there. I found that Ilford is the best and the Gold Fibre Silk is the absolute front runner for my Epson. It even smells like it came from a darkroom! The prints I make using this paper always exceed my expectations and my clients are always thrilled. You may have to experiment a little with your printer. I change my paper print setting to "Luster" for my best results.

This is a beautiful paper, but unfortunately it scratches easily.
The texture and finish of the paper is beautiful. subtle gloss. subtle fiber texture. Contrast and sharpness are better than any other paper I have used. Color is vibrant yet restrained.

This paper has awesome tonal range. It's sturdy like real fiber paper.
If you're printing on the Epson 3800, make sure you use the front loader otherwise you have the potential of getting horrible scratch marks from the rollers.

Comments about Ilford Galerie Gold Fibre Silk Paper (Super B, 13 x 19", 50 Sheets):
I am new to printing, having just purchased an Epson 3880. However, I have been having photos printed by a Pro lab on Crane Museo Silver Rag for quite awhile. I chose Gold Fibre Silk, because I had read favorable reviews and I had seen examples of my friend's work on this paper.
But now I have seen for myself the gorgeous print quality that is possible with GFS. The surface has a non-obtrusive texture that simply gets out of the way of the image. The same came be said of the lustrous semigloss finish. The color is slightly warm, which is to my liking, especially for B&W work, which is what I do mostly. I also like the weight of the paper, which is substantial, yet not board-like.
As I said, I am new to printing, and I expect that I will test other papers along the way. But I doubt that I will find one that is significantly better than GFS, especially at its price.

After trying about 10 other types of paper, I've settled on this one. Vibrant colors and hefty feel.

Comments about Ilford Galerie Gold Fibre Silk Paper (Super B, 13 x 19", 50 Sheets):
Ilford Gold Fibre Silk is great for both color and B&W printing. The blacks are deep and the colors vibrant. The paper has a slight warm tone. You need to be careful printing B&W prints using the Epson ABW driver. Test the tone setting and use either the normal or dark setting and see which gives you the best shadow detail. The ABW driver gives a much darker black than the normal RGB driver. This paper has become my everyday semi-glossy paper and is equal in performance to papers costing much more.

Has the look, feel, even the SMELL of silver halide darkroom paper. I use it with my Epson 2200. Download the profiles for it and it is simply right on.

All around great paper for ink jet printing. Heavier paper but not cardboard-ish; a semi-gloss finish. Most important: handles yellows better than any other paper used.

Comments about Ilford Galerie Gold Fibre Silk Paper (Super B, 13 x 19", 50 Sheets):
Superb for black and white, this warm-tone baryta paper also makes brighter, more vivid color prints than any other I've used with my Epson R2400. A fringe benefit is the paper color goes well with many white mats, important when mounting with a paper border showing.
Ilford's free downloadable profile works very well with my printer.
Priced similarly to lighter weight, plastic-coated products, this true paper product -- it even smells like wet-lab paper -- gives serious stiffness and heft to hand-held prints.
I always use it for my competition prints, and prefer it for most applications.
On the down side, I found it necessary to set my printer for "thick paper" and raise the receiving surface (with an empty paper-box) to eliminate the head-strikes that occurred occasionally without those precautions. Also, the packaging lacks a re-sealable plastic bag to store unused sheets. Both are minor gripes compared to the excellent performance of the paper.

Comments about Ilford Galerie Gold Fibre Silk Paper (Super B, 13 x 19", 50 Sheets):
Printing surface, feel, and weight are just what I have been looking for. I use this now for all portrait and architectural prints. BW is especially nice and neutral. On the negative side, I am not pleased with Ilford's packaging. I have used sheets from 3 different boxes, and in all 3 there has been slight (very slight) damage to at least one corner of the sheets. They could do better here. Also note that this paper can scuff easily when sheets are rolled for mailing.

Comments about Ilford Galerie Gold Fibre Silk Paper (Super B, 13 x 19", 50 Sheets):
I am very excited about this product. I was at first interested in it's black and white characteristics which are superb. The black and whites have a beautiful tonality which is perfectly nuetral on my epson 2400. This purity in the grayscale seems to contribute to a more natural looking color print as well. I am even more pleased with the color prints. I use this paper for custom prints in my portrait studio. I think the heavy weight of the paper and the wider color gamut make this a premium product that I am proud to offer my customers.

I purchased this paper after reading reviews of it in Photo Techniques magazine. Everyone was pleased with the wet lab look, deep blacks and price. They were right. I am using this paper in a photography class and have been impressed with its look compared to other papers I have used and seen used (some very expensive papers). Try this paper!

Comments about Ilford Galerie Gold Fibre Silk Paper (Super B, 13 x 19", 50 Sheets):
I use this paper for head-shot jobs, providing prints for clients (they request 9" x 12" prints). Color and texture is absolutely great. My clients are more satisfied with the paper quality than any other products'. What is not great about is that its surface easily gets scratches when printing or handling.
