Comments about Ilford Galerie Gold Fibre Silk Paper (44" x 40' Roll):
I made my own color profiles for a Canon IPF8300. In Canon printers, the paper feeds very nicely, and the head never strikes. Epson people, make sure to set the print head hight to high.
The paper has a perfect warmness and thickness, with excellent tonal range. Deep midtones are long and well separated. The lack of brighteners makes the print have a more subtle and traditional look, as apposed to others with a digital-era in you face brightness.
No optical brighteners gives a nice warmth to prints. When matted, the paper blends in with the matteboard, instead of clashing as many way-too-bright papers do.
I wish it was cheaper, but its not unreasonable given the prices of other Fiber papers in the category.
Very, very delicate. The roll comes with a set of cotton gloves.

Comments about Ilford Galerie Gold Fibre Silk Paper (44" x 40' Roll):
This paper certainly produces the finest black and white prints I've ever made in the digital era. It's only weaknesses are an extremely delicate surface...(use premier art spray to minimize fingerprints and surface scratches) and a tendency to head strike in epson printers (due to both paper thickness and stiffness).
