The Flip Video Ultra Camcorder (White) is ready to change the way you think about camcorders. I bought this to take on-site videos of wineries for a blog. I'm using it for more than that because it's so handy--hardly the size of a small cellphone. Just three controls work the on-off, video, and zoom features. You see the results instantly, and they're easy to upload to a computer with the embedded software. My only cavil is that you have to edit short takes together on the computer. The camera takes each burst as a separate video.

The Flip camcorder is very easy to use, and capturing its footage with the flip-out USB connector is a breeze. This is a great product for students doing projects, or people (even children) doing simple family pieces.
There are some things you lose with the Flip - there is no external microphone input, so you'll have to pay close attention to the distance and volume of people on camera whose voices you're trying to record. You also get less resolution than you would with a normal camcorder, but for anything you simply want to share online, it's great.
Mac users should be ready for some quirks getting the Flip to play nice with various versions of OS X. A free tool called Perian has fixed it for me (search and ye shall find).
On the PC side, know that you have to go through the Flip software to capture and save the video before you can use it with Movie Maker. Not a big deal for us, but I would like to have had someone tell me that when we first tried moving the AVI files directly from the camcorder. Someone who better knows codec quirks could explain the details, but not me.
Bottom line is that the Flip is inexpensive, extremely easy to learn and use, and plenty of fun.

The Flip Video is the ultimate little camcorder for on the go shooting. i got one to carry with me almost everywhere I go. It fits in my pocket, shoots surprisingly well video, and is easy to get into imovie to edit.It's durable (i've dropped mine a handful of times). The mic is a little weak however.I've had skeptics complain about the video resolution, audio, etc. but they don't understand it's use. If you want to lug around a bigger device, go for it. Just realize you'll miss out on shooting a lot of stuff during the times when you didn't want to carry your camcorder because it was too big.I also plan to get the underwater housing soon. Think about it, an underwater camcorder for less than $200. Amazing.And it's easy to edit little videos together. I've done more editing since I got the flip than the past two years using a minidv camcorder.I highly recommend this camcorder.

Great product. Easy to use and download. Doesn't work with Mac Tiger system - sound doesn't transfer. Quality is great. Has excellent low-light performance. Highly recommended for simple, quick videos. Works great with iMovie for editing.
