I was a bit sceptical when I bought it for my wife's laptop, but it does what it claims to and is more effective than expected. It can cool a Dell E1505 that is almost too hot to touch within minutes. It works great on a flat surface with the fold out support and works equally well on your lap. The curved design allows good air flow and the USB power allows it to move around with the laptop easily.

Generally my laptop runs a bit hot over time and my apartment can get a bit toasty in the summer, so a cooling pad is a must. While it's good and delivers a steady blast of air, it can't support the weight of the laptop and the plastic "kick-stand" really is a pain to deal with.

Bought mine 2/2011. Putting stand on my lap dug into my legs & had to keep adjusting it. They should put some kind of padding there. Then 2-3 mos. ago it started making loud noise then quit. Not worth the[$]. Didn't use it that much either. Not recommending it!

Functions well for as long as it lasts; I like that it has a usb cord, and it is very portable. But the fan blades are a rather flimsy plastic, and if you place the pad on anything that is not flat, they can easily get caught, break off, or bend in such a way as to stop working altogther. I won't be buying another as a replacement.

I use this Cooling Pad for office laptop. My machine used to give me too much of heat, but now I no longer worry about my thighs getting heat burns, thanks to this great product.
An add on feature that can be used is some kind of attaching mechanism for the cooling pad to laptop. But that's asking too much from a less than $20 product
