It seems like good stuff.
I'm about to take it out on a 1 week test to Florida to see if I'm keeping it or returning it. I have a bigger REI camping pack that I've converted into a video camera bag. That is what I use for my big project shoots, when I need to carry cables, full-size portable drives, and other audio gear. For this trip I am shooting a friends wedding and doing a whole bunch of trips around the gulf side of Florida. I don't want or need to bring my regular gear. All I need to bring is a laptop, DVX100, power adapters, 2 packs of tape (10 pieces), wireless lavalier, extra batteries, charger, little P&S camera, and a monopod (the monopods with the little tripod feet at the bottom - Bogen 560B).
So far I like its size and firmness. I was also looking and comparing it with the Crumpler Customary Barge. I spent almost an hour taking the two bags apart and configuring them to fit my stuff and decided on the Tamrac because it was just firmer and better at being modular whereas the Crumpler was too crumply, soggy, squishy even though the back support was nice. I also like that the laptop compartment on the Tamrac is separate from the main compartment. In the Crumpler you have to open the main compartment, where all my gear would be, expose it and then open a long velcro flap that may or may not be covered by gear. The Tamrac is easy to just unzip and take out the laptop or papers, no fuzzing with other gear.
I do like the build quality. Seems solid enough. We'll see. The only thing I wish is that it had a few external loops to either hang or bungy tie things to. But I do also like that it doesn't have that tell tale signs that you are packing some gear. It is a really simple and discreet looking bag. the only thing saying that it is a camera bag is the small rubber Tamrac logo, which can be removed.
I'll update on how it handles out on the road when I get back from the trip.

For 40 years we travel all over the world on long trips and have used many camera bags - but the 3380 is the most intelligent bag we have come across.
Because the design is light weight, we are able to carry more equipment + laptop's more comfortably on our backs.
The bags fits nicely into to the overhead bins on aircraft, and is easy for walking down the aisle of the plane.
I also like the pocket for carry a lightweight jacket when out and about.
Money well spent.

Great backpack for bus trips. Can store your laptop, camera gear, and a little more. Ideal for those with only a few lenses, and not that much equipment in general. Fabric seems a little stiff but I'm sure it will loosen up a little with use.

The laptop pouch is huge - should fit almost any size any brand. The straps are well padded and very comfortable. The backpack has two parts to store gear with a divider that can be folded out of the way for one large area. Easy to fit one body, lenses, flash, etc. and doesn't strain my back.

This is the first bag that I have bought, it it very well constructed and all of my gear fits in it. You do have to play tetris to get it all to fit though. My 70-300mm lens must stand up and down to fit well. the top compartment is not very big either, it won't fit a magazine or book unless it's sideways. I Wish it had the straps on the back for a tripod, there are loops on the bottom for your own straps though.

I have had several backpacks fo rmy camera equipment and this one works better than any. With a safe place for equipment plus the laptop compartment and finally, a place to put a light jacket, lunch or other other small items, it works great.

I bought this bag so as to be able to easily fit my limited camera equipment, plus be able to carry a laptop and small electronic items, when we go on trips. The upper compartment is pretty roomy, and can carry quite a lot of stuff. The laptop compartment is well padded.
The only con I see is that the individual slots for lenses, and the protective strap running across the middle, are not customizable enough. You can move them around a bit, but it seems somewhat limited to me. For limited equipment it is OK, more than a few different items and it might not work so well.
Other than that, I love the bag.

This is a great bag if you have big equipment. Stuff like large bodies with battery grips and a 17" laptop.
There is a large main compartment useful for carrying pretty much anything. The build quality and material is good, the zippers work nicely.
However I had to return this bag as it did not fit the D60 (no battery grip) and 13" Macbook very well. For this smaller camera and notebook this was too much space, also the bag itself is kind of bulky, although likely does a good job of protecting the gear.
If your equipment consists of a larger body SLR, a lens or 2, and large laptop, this might be a good bag for you.
Instead of the Aero 80 I got the Kata Sensitivity V. The Kata fits a D60 nicely and the laptop compartment fits the 13" Macbook (aluminum) perfectly. There is space for all the cords and other items and there are lots of small pockets. Far more portable then the Aero 80

Good practical bag for DSLR body, three lens and flash. I am able to fit a XTi with 24-105mm, 85mm, 70-200mm F4/L and EX flash that sits above the L lens with padding in between. The storage compartment above has ample storage for small items like CFcards, pwr cords ect... The side mesh pocket easily store's a 16 to 20 oz water bottle I like that it's light and durable.

I purchased this product to use on vacation, because I needed something slightly smaller than my usual camera bag to protect my equipment and still have room for my laptop and a light jacket.
It fit the bill perfectly. I not only had enough room for everything I wanted to bring with me, but I also found the product to be sturdy and roomier than I even expected.

This is a great bag for amateur user who is usually not carrying many lenses and other stuff. It fits my Rebel XTi with battery grip and 24-105mm lens attached and there is enough space for flash, another lens and so on. The camera compartment can be taken out so you can use this backpack as usual one. I was looking for a backpack able to fit my photo gear and 15.4 laptop. There are a lot of other good backpacks around but most of them are larger than this or very large so it is not always convenient to go around in crowded narrow street old town in some European city or carry big backpack with no stuff packed in it.

The feature I was after was a bag deep enough to hold a Canon 40D with Battery Grip fitted at a reasonable price.
This does that with ease and provides plenty of protection for my equipment.
I am just starting out and this bag has plenty of room for other stuff for a casual user, including Laptop.

This bag was purchased to carry my new Canon 40D with a 28-135mm lens. I also have a laptop and a 1TB external HDD that I tote around with me. This bag fit everything for all of those three items along with another smaller point and shoot camera that I own. Very pleased with the construction, space, layout, and weather proofing. Wonderful bag.

Last christmas, I finally took the plunge into photography and bought myself a D80 with an 18-135 and 55-200 lens. As a newbie to photography, I was looking for a camera bag that would allow me to carry both my lens's and camera, plus have some extra space for small items that I typically bring with me to photograph at air shows (like a hat, jacket, water, snacks). Also important was the ability of the bag to protect my equipment. Most of the bags I saw in the store were either too small to carry anything other than a camera and maybe one other lens, or way too big. When I saw this bag and its dimensions, I knew it was the perfect fit (FYI it's the size of a typical school backpack). It gives me plenty of room for my camera body (with lens attached),and two additional lens's. I can fit all my accessories (extra batteries, manuals, memory cards) in the multiple accessory pockets. The top of the bag is a perfect size for extra items, like snacks, a light weight jacket, etc. And the computer pocket is perfect too. The bag is padded really well, with a mix of hard plastic and foam. The shoulder straps have extra foam padding which makes it very comfortable. The waterbottle pockets on each side are also a great feature. Overall, it's a great bag and I would recommend it!

Comments about Tamrac 3380 Aero 80 Photo/Laptop Backpack (Black):
I bought this backpack for a recent photographic assignment to India where I had to carry my laptop with me at all times. Overall, I am very impressed with it - and several people I was traveling with were also impressed enough that they were planning to buy the same backpack when they got back to the States. The main reason I chose this product was that it would be able to accommodate my DSLR with standard zoom lens, two spare lenses (including one 300mm telephoto) a small video camera (with five tapes), spare batteries and filters, power cables etc., and my laptop as well as providing some space for other items such as sweaters, papers etc. It certainly has the capacity I needed and the lower section of the backpack that accommodates all the camera gear is easy to access, easy to organise and generally very well designed. The only complaint I have is that the upper section of the rucksack is quite difficult to access - not so bad that it's unusable, but I did end up simply stuffing things in there because the design of the opening is such that the flap doesn't really fold down. I managed to fit in a down vest, a flashlight, a couple of energy bars, some papers and my sunglasses but I had to pretty much empty the whole compartment to find anything I wanted. The laptop sleeve, on the other hand, provides plenty of space and you can store papers, magazines etc in there along with the laptop (as long as you can stand the extra weight!) The two side pockets are perfect for water/soda bottles, too, which is good because you wouldn't be able to get at them in the main compartment! I didn't use it in the rain, so I have no idea whether its weatherproofing works. It certainly looks like it should, but the rubber strips on the laptop sleeve zip do make opening and closing that compartment a little fiddly. None of these issues would prevent me recommending this backpack though, as it really does do everything I wanted it to do. I didn't hike with it for any distance but it certainly performed well being thrown in and out of trucks and buses and seemed to provide excellent protection for my gear in some pretty uncomfortable environments. One other note - if you're a bit of a contortionist, you can access your camera without removing the backpack. It's probably not advisable unless you're sure the rest of your gear won't come tumbling out when you open the flap but it does add a little extra functionality that you might need.
Expertise: Advanced amateur
Problems Encountered: The top compartment - difficult to access and somewhat on the small side.
