We bought this case to keep two AB800 heads, a couple of stands, and some speedlights in for location work. There's ample room, and the padding is secure enough to keep us from worrying about the contents. It's still fairly awkward, though - getting it into a car is a bit of a clownish operation, and it could use a better handle that somehow allowed the use of two hands. The only other problem we've found with it is that the zipper tends to get stuck now and then.

Big, heavy, holds alot

Comments about Photoflex Transpac Dual Kit Case:

I think my experience is typical with this bag. It's a heavy bag on it's own, I guess with all the padding. It's very big and roomy, and holds my largest lightstands with no problem. I actually have 2 Flashpoint monolights, 1 Mettle monolight, 2 normal lightstands, 1 heavier-duty lightstand, 1 small background lightstand, a 3'x4' softbox, 2 brolly boxes, 1 umbrella, a 10x20' green background (adds cushioning to lights) and assorted cables. I couldn't fit my reflectors or background stands in there but 95% of my 'studio' setup is now in this bag.

Once you get all that equipment in there, it's a pretty heavy load to be carrying around, so the wheels are handy. But, if you're going to want to really be mobile, then you would probably want two smaller bags instead of one behemoth. I'm not even sure this bag will fit in my car, it's so long.

It is nice to get the equipment out of the way. The bags zippers don't inspire confidence, but I haven't had any real problems with them. The dividers and overall construction seems very nice.

Comments about Photoflex Transpac Dual Kit Case:

I use this to hold 2 full light set ups with softboxes and power source.

A better padded strap would be an improvement for this case.

I had a hard time finding a case that would hold my light stands but this one is tall enough.

Comments about Photoflex Transpac Dual Kit Case:

This case makes it a heck of a lot easier for transporting my lighting gear. What I transport/store in this bag:

    2 Alien Bee 800's
2 Heavy Duty 13' Buff stands
    2 umbrellas
    1 soft box
Lots of misc accessories, Pocket wizards, cords, grids, bounce cards, vagabond battery pack, etc.

All that equipment fits snug in there w/out bouncing around. I could get a third light head in there but there wouldn't be room for the third light stand. If you plan on keeping stands in a separate case then this case will easily hold up to four lights with all break-down type light modifiers.

Many people have commented on the zipper. I agree. It has some resistance and I'm not confident it will hold up over time. It doesn't have the smooth glide of a high end purse, for example. The zipper is the only gripe I have. Other than that its probably the best bang for your buck on any of the other options out there.

If you have a 2-3 light set-up like me, then this bag will serve you well... and depending on your choice of light modifiers, you would probably be able to get all your gear in here. I plan on growing my lighting gear and could see myself either doubling up on this bag, or looking at the bigger brother to it, or both. Well constructed, outside of the cheap zipper, and versatile configuration.

I like this unit as it fits a lot of stuff (and my larger light stands especially). Most of these stuio bags are only 3ft big, and can only fit lightstands of like size. This unit fits my 44" collapsed stands.

Durable, built to last, but a bit on the heavy side, even empty.

I use it to carry a vagabond battery pack, 2 AB1600's, reflectors, 2 lightstands, 2 umbrellas, 1 large softbox, and a bunch of other random equipment. solid construction and protection, the only problem is that im short so the angle i'm at when i drag it is pretty shallow so the housing that holds the wheels get pretty scraped up fast. i don't think it affects the structural integrity of the wheel assembly much to worry about it. The case is pretty much what I wanted. The only thing I wish was different is to have straps that could be strapped across where your gear lays, so you wouldn't have to worry about things moving around no matter what side or end it was sitting on.

Other than that, I love it so far.

Comments about Photoflex Transpac Dual Kit Case:

I purchased the Transpac to house a complete(at least in my mind) location lighting kit.

All my location gear is Alien Bees and the Transpac holds the following with room to spare:the Vagabond Battery Pack, 3 light heads including their cables and standard reflectors, a Ringflash, 1 12ft. stand, 2 8ft. stands, 40" Matthews Grip Arm, 2 60" umbrellas, 1 86" PLM reflector, 1 50" reflector and a small grip bag with clamps, extra cables, etc.

Needless to say, this case holds a tremendous amount of gear. It appears to be built solid and I think it will stand the test of time, much like the rest of my Photoflex gear.

Comments about Photoflex Transpac Dual Kit Case:

For the price this is a good case. It feels solid and well constructed, not as nice as some pricier products, but like I said, for the price this is a gread value.

The zipper is not very smooth, but works and seems strong enough. I wish it came with more dividers of different sizes. One thing I was not aware of when purchasing is that the dividers do no go all the way to the top of the case, leaving room for smaller items to shift around or bump into one another.

Comments about Photoflex Transpac Dual Kit Case:

Purchased this case to consolidate location equipment. I was able to replace a pelican case, duffle bag and light stand bag with this single unit.

In all I place in this rolling bag 4 AB1600's 4 light stands, 4 long throw reflecters, 4 50 foot extension cords and still have some left over room. lots of space.

Only downside is the inside fabric does not appear to be overly durable. cordura nylon would make a vast improvement - also - consolidation brings lots of weight to a single bag - so take that into consideration. *I can handle it, but my wife cannot - so far I like my new option

I like this product's build and ease of use. I would buy this product again and probably will. I needs just one thing added to it to make it better and that is a partition between the light compartments and the lid to keep your light stands from touching you light's.
