The Photogenic StudioMax III AKC320BRconstant color monolight with built-in radio slave offers a full six f/stop power range over 320 watt/seconds. It has internal control to ensure the same Kelvin temperature output, no matter what level of output is chosen, hence the name Constant Color.
This light is an excellent choice as a main, secondary, or background light. Since it accepts the entire line of the PowerLight reflectors, grids, snoots, and diffusers, the StudioMax III is a good investment.
This monolight is capable of operating with its optional battery pack (AKB-1) -- or by select models from other manufacturers -- for working outdoors away from AC power. A fully charged battery pack will usually provide 150 flashes.

Comments about Photogenic StudioMax III 320 Watt/Second Radio Slave Monolight (120VAC/12VDC):
For the price, this is a great light. I use this as the main in a four light setup, (all StudioMax III). With the built-in radio receiver, I have no sync cords to worry about. The rest are optically slaved to the main.
For my small portrait studio, 320 WS is plenty of power.
The ability to go battery powered is also a real plus. The unit is light enough to be easily used for fill light in any outdoor situation.
the constant colr output allows me to set my white balance to the light temp, and not have to adjust as I lower the output on any light.
I haven't had these long enough to know how they hold up, but so far... I really like these lights.
