I recently purchased this player it sounds great. Battery life is remarkable...60 hours is about how long it plays between charges. Buttons are a little tricky and take some time learning the layout, but it's like anything else., once you get it...you get it.

I have had three different iAudio devices through the years and consider myself an audiophile, which why I by only high quality MP3 players such as iAudio. The sound quaility is much better than most players I have tested. The size is great also for working out and running. It fits perfectly in my inner-shorts pocket. This is my second iAudio 7 and I can't wait to get 32gb one when it comes out.
I have had many IPODs in the past and none of them have match the sound quality of iAudio. I love the sexiness of the IPOD Nano, but the sound quality was not up to par.

Comments about iAUDIO 7 16GB in Black with Red:
This is actually my third iAUDIO 7 16GB over the last two years. This is because the previous two were lost and stolen from me.
This is in my opinion a fantastic player, it supports a relatively large number of different music formats: MP3 WMA, ASF, WAV, OGG, and FLAC. The battery life is excellent I charge about once every three weeks and I generally listen to at least two hours music on it most days.
The sound quality is excellent especially if you get a better set of head phones than the ones that are supplied with the player.
The player does not require any special software as it appears on any PC as a flash drive and one can simply copy the music across to it
The FM radio is also something that I use regularly and I have no issues with it. I do not use this product to watch videos or record from the microphone so I cannot comment on these aspects of the player.
Overall this player suits my needs perfectly. I could not recommend it highly enough.

Why it's great:
sounds great!
supports flac!
plays oggs and wavs too
nice headphone amp, drives REAL headphones
it's really small, smaller than you think
tunes and records fm
records voice w/a built-in mic
ridiculous battery life
16 GB
Why it's just short of being really great:
it has a line-in...great right? No, forget the line-in, it only records WMA up to 128kbps?!?!?!! AAArgh, so close!
No card reader, duh. Again, so close.
Overall, great player. 2x the capacity vs ipod for the price. Be sure to turn off all the effects and flatten the eq before listening to anything but the hilarious rap tune that's included. Buy it, you won't be disappointed even with the line-in thing, and who knows, maybe they'll fix it w/a firmware upgrade. It could happen.

Using it takes a little practise and the touch buttons are very sensitive... but the amount of features and sound quality are great, it's stable, it is light and portable yet powerful... I love my 7!

Comments about iAUDIO 7 16GB in Black with Red:
I don't need bells and whistles, I just want a strong audio player that supports FLAC. iAudio 7 delivers the best sound of the three devices I've owned and 6 or 7 I've listened to (only two of which have supported flac natively), and the audio enhancement features are terrific. I tend to listen to my live recordings "As is", but the BBE enhancements are rather impressive. I'm also a huge fan of the interface. Flash memory means no skipping, and you can fill the entire chip without worrying about the device crashing.
The only downside is that flash loads considerably slower than the older hard disk driven technology. It takes quite a while to load even 2GB on the player, so do expect your drag/drop to be as quick as on a HDD attached by USB. A small price to pay, however, to assure you don't crash your device by filling the entire drive, and to know your favorite song will never skip while you're running for the bus or just out jogging.

Comments about iAUDIO 7 16GB in Black with Red:
This is a great, evolved and stylish player. I use it mainly for sports and travel. The sound is really good, almost audiophile for a device like this, with choices to be efectively adjusted at your preferences. Cowon produces the only serious Apple competitors, in my humble experience (I had other 2 iAudio players and an iPod). Bactery is huge, really impressive. Sure, controls here are a bit confusing, a bit too sensible (still cannot find out how NOT start recording randomly, sometimes). You always have to remember to "hold" buttons to relax and listen to your music. Overall quality is effectively very good; I think Cowon did another great work.

Comments about iAUDIO 7 16GB in Black with Red:
This is for music lovers. The sound is very, very good, delicate and clean. I use and recommend Koss Portapro headphones. The battery life is as impressive as they say - I use it a lot and charge it every 3-4 weeks. It plays loud. The unit is small and reliable. If music is everything, this is all you need to know.
But it has 2 stupid problems. First the FM radio drifts. That is annoying; I think they invented AFC in the '70s. The workaround is to retune when it gets irritating. The tuner is good.
The second problem can sink the unit for some. The touch mechanism is oversensitive and unreliable. You need to use the lock all the time, then the you can't change the volume. This is really annoying if you fiddle with song selection or volume, radio stations, etc. This is the only way I've caused the unit to lock up - but it happens all too easily if you don't use the lock.
The fundamentals are so strong - audiophile sound, great efficiency. If you put up with junk to get the best sound this may be for you. If the above mentioned inconveniences are too much for you, look elsewhere. (Creative sound quite good too, but have other problems).
In the end, I've kept mine and I guard it like gold.
