The Panasonic FireStoreFS-100-160 by Focus Enhancements is a direct-to-edit digital video recorder designed specifically for the Panasonic AG-HVX200 P2 camcorder. The FS-100-160 is armed with a 160 GB hard drive which can record up to 160 minutes of DVCPRO HD 1080p footage. The short run times associated with P2 cards are a thing of the past!
The device records all DVCPRO50/HD footage to Panasonic's standard MXF file and can be hooked up directly into your non linear editing system via FireWire. The benefit of direct-to-edit recording is limitless. After recording your footage, simply hook the drive to your computer and you are ready to start cutting. This type of acquisition can be very helpful for news gathering, where broadcast ready footage is time critical.

- This device is the perfect compliment to Panasonic's P2 HD camera, the AG-HVX200. The FS-100-160 can record all DVCPRO HD formats along with both standard definition formats, DVCPRO 50 and DV. 1

- The 160 GB hard drive at the core of the FS-100-160 can be used for extended record times. This is perfect for event videography and documentary film making. The FireStore can record 2.5 hours of high definition footage! If more time is needed, simply link two or more together.

- The FS-100-160 mounts directly to your digital video camera, allowing you to transfer your video directly to its hard drive. After shooting, connect the unit to your computer and you are ready to edit.
- DTE Technology
- Direct To Edit (DTE) Technology lets you record from your camcorder to the FS-100-160 hard drive while you shoot. The drive works with several DV NLE systems for convenience.

Shooting with the Panasonic HDX 900 and the FireStore attached to the camera this is a great set up for those clients that want a P2 format. This is my second FireStore and needed it so I have enough

Perfectly compliments my P2 camera and provides far greater recording time then equally priced P2 Memory Cards. Bonus feature is controlling record mode manually when my camera is mounted on my jib. Works equally well with my 10 year old Sony vx1000 standard definition camera. Just totally awesome!

This is a great product if your shooting long events, indie movies, or anything that requires more shoot time in HD. If you don't mind having something extra attached to your camera among the many other things you might have connected; then this unit will work great for you Panasonic P2 lover as myself. Let's face it.. If you have a HVX200 camera; which purpose was design to shoot HD then you need some media power. This would be the unit.

The FireStoreFS-160 is a great time saver. I have always used tape and got tied up in the capture process--no more. I have used it for only two projects and am still getting aquainted with it, but for first use it was user friendly.
It would be helpful if it had a "record" indicator in addition to the counter

I'm using the FS-100-160 FireStore with my HDX900. I couldn't ask for a more perfect match. It mounts on a AB plate next to the wireless receiver and voom we have P2 files to work with. 720 or 1080 works like a charm. I've cut my production time by half.
