This protection plan covers mechanical and electrical failures and more important it covers accidental damage. Although I have never needed this kind of coverage in the past the peace of mind is worth the price...Read complete review
This protection plan covers mechanical and electrical failures and more important it covers accidental damage. Although I have never needed this kind of coverage in the past the peace of mind is worth the price. I have seen family members accidentally drop point and shoot cameras and it was not covered under manufacturers warranties. I have purchased other warranties that did not cover accidental damage. I would not do so again because accidents do happen. This policy seems to have very inclusive coverage. It does not cover loss or theft. They were very nice on the phone explaining that as long as you physically had the camera it could be sent in they would fix the damage or replace the camera. You can't ask for more.

You never know what's going to happen. That's why I tend buy these kinds of warranties on items I know I will be using in environments where I can't control what's going to happen.

Fortunately, I have not needed to actually use the coverage I purchased, but the terms and conditions it comes with look fantastic. I bought the protection plan for my new XZ-1. It's given me peace of mind I can use my new gear with certainty that, if something happens, the plan will help me recover any damage. I particularly like the international aspect of it, as I will be moving to Europe. And it includes accidental damage. Great deal for the price!

I'm from Spain and bought the camera in B&H. Canon USA doesn't give warranty of products bought in USA in Spain, so this is the best option to have a warranty even more extensive than Canon one.
