The Minox 8x25 Macroscope is a unique miniature telescope that fits into the palm of your hand. It offers the user high optical performance and focuses extremely close. It is highly portable and useful for a multitude of activities. Whether you are a bird watcher, an insect observer, a star gazer, or a sport enthusiast, the Minox 8x25 macroscope is the best companion for you. This instrument is particularly useful for museums and art exhibitions due to its excellent macro capability.

This highly innovative, compact telescope body is designed by Volkswagen-Design. The 25mm objective lens diameter coupled with its porro prism yields to high-light transmission. The 8x25 Macroscope optics are specially multi-coated by the manufacturer to ensure bright images with high contrast and accurate color rendition. Minox incorporates the Quick Close Focus (QCF) in the 8x25 Macroscope, a highly developed focusing mechanism for accurate focusing found in their "High Grade" range binoculars. One single turn of less than 360-degrees of the telescope's focusing ring lets you achieve focus from close-up to infinity.

Compact and light-weight, this mini telescope is a little giant that features tough rubber armoring to protect it against everyday wear and tear. It is purged with Argon gas to minimize internal corrosion and prevent fogging during quick temperature changes. Also, it is waterproof to be completely submersible at depth of more than 15 feet. Its twist-up and twist-down eyecup is definitely favorable for eyeglass wearers.

Comments about Minox 8x25 Macroscope Monocular (Black):

I bought this to use 1) Outside in nature (bugs on flowers, etc.) and 2) In museums to examine works of art. It has good optics and lets in sufficient light, and it focuses as close as 14 inches, which allows you to see a lot of detail. The only two caveats are that the depth of field is shallow at 14 inches, and it can be difficult to hold it steady at that close magnification. (But the scope does allow a tripod.)
