As good as Canon equipment is, one sometimes has issues that a 1 year warranty will not cover or where the issues arise in the 2nd or 3rd year. Therefore, I was pleased to hear about the SAGEMAX protection that was available. Not only does it cover against any defects or issues that may arise in the 3 year period, it also covers against accidental dropage, always a potential problem when doing action photography and other shoots. My only disappointment, and it's not too big a deal, is it would have nice to also have coverage against theft or like issues.

The main selling point was coverage of accidental damage. I usually stay away from extended warranties such as this. Too many pimple covered 18 years old kids pushing the extended warranty, once pushing one for printer inks.
I researched this company and plan before buying and the impression was it was worth the money, especially considering the cost of the camera that went with it.
Only time will tell on this purchase. In a way it is something I hope to never need. Due to this I can only give it an average star review. 3 stars seem fair.

Great insurance that paid off when I dropped & shattered my Nikon 18-200 mm lens ! Worth the cost. A bargain. Maybe a bit on the high side, but I haven't compared. Responded quickly & simply with my request.

I bought this for my 7D and haven't had to use it yet, but it sure makes me feel safer about bringing the camera with me everywhere. It seems like a good coverage plan.
I've bought extended warranties for my guitar amps before and was really glad that I had when I needed to ship them for repairs.

It's a good idea to get protection for cameras. My Canon 7D will get a lot of use and a Protection plan is great to have just in case. This is a must have for anybody who plans to rent their gear out to people. Do it......... Do it.

I just got this protection plan, so i haven't had the need to use it. it was impossible to register my product on their website, so i called them directly and registered in about 5 minutes. good stuff :)

If you have the money to spend on the camera, then you have the money to get a protection plan.
Bottom line.. It's better to have it and not need it. Than need it and not have it! I speak from experience!!!

I am giving 4 stars in hope that this plan, if ever needed, will live up to its promise. I have had no problems with the camera this plan was purchased for, but I have learned the hard way with other electronics that it is Always a good idea to buy a plan for more expensive items.

Well, not much to report since I haven't had the need to use this protection plan. I hope I never do, but if I do find myself in the "need" I do feel confident that Sagemax will do as intended. I only gave 4 stars because I do like what I have read about Sagemax, but obviously, I haven't used the service. Keep in mind, if you spend your hard earned money on a camera body in the pro/semi-pro market, you might want to protect your investment. There are no dumb photogs, just un-informed ones. Consider yourself informed! Get out there and shoot!
