Well, the Leica X1 is pretty pricey so this gives me a peace of mind, but not totally sure if it's worth it. The Leica X1 comes with a 2-year warranty, so this only extends it by 1 year. The good thing about this is that it covers accidentally breaking the camera by, say, dropping it on the sidewalk. But I bought the form-fitting Leica case which gives excellent protection, and in over 10 years of photography, I've never destroyed a camera. I once dropped a Nikon DSLR on a sidewalk but it was fine. So I'm not happy to let go of $200+ dollars, but I'm glad to have a bit of peace of mind.

I use this product to ensure extended coverage over my D300 body. I chose to purchase it because, after one year is up, my continued use of the body for my business won't be covered...and with a $2000 camera, the extra [$] seemed wise to cover cleanings, internal failures, damage, etc.
