Bought one for my current Sony after I had to make two claims on the policy for my Panasonic HVX200a.

My Panny stopped shooting HD about 12 months after purchase. The policy sent it to Japan and back for the fix.

16 months later, the Panny was knocked into a river during a shoot for a canoe manufacturer. Policy covered me for the full purchase price.

Buying this is a no brainer on a pricy piece of equipment that my entire business depends on.

Got this for my AG-HVX200. nice to have, haven't used it yet, but easy to activate when i purchused it. I acually got it 28 days after i bought the camera, and it was really easy to do. But you only get 30 days to do this.

This has got to be one of the best protection plans you can and should purchase. It's a shame when people invest in equipment and then are too cheap to include a protection plan. One of my favorite things about this plan is that I do not have to pay for shipping if my equipment needs to be repaired.

In this case I utilized this coverage for a Sony HDR-Z5U. While mounting my camera for a shot, I fell a number of feet onto a steel grate car ramp. I broke both of my arm, and worse, my camera.

There was no hassle in submitting my camera claim to SageMax. After 2 months in the 'shop' I called the 'shop' to see what the delay was, they told me some of the parts were not commonly ordered parts. The damage was extensive; Body, (main) frame, LCD panel, front controls, internal mic assembly, exterior mic mount, handle, tape carriage, and the complete lens assembly. The shop asked my why the camera wasn't totaled! (I agreed).

I called SageMax and discussed it with them, they totaled-out the camera the next day. There was an error made somewhere but the communication and responses I received were ALL very good and to my satisfaction. -- Today I received my check for replacement.

I will certainly purchase another policy for my replacement.

I purchased this plan due to fact that I use my gear in the outdoors all year long and in all weather condition and in various terrain. So with that being said if you are in the same scenario, I would advise that you get some sort of plan. I hope that I will never have to use it but knowing if anything were to happen I would be covered. This gives me peace of mind.

I am thrilled to have this protection plan to just keep my mind at ease. My job takes me from one location to another and this camera is always moving with me. Accidents happen, and this way my investment is protected. I am very happy with this plan.

Haven't had to use it yet (fingers crossed) but knowing that I do makes me feel warm and fuzzy on the inside. We shoot on location and have multiple people handling the camera and the chances are good that it will get dropped, spilled on, or accidentally flung from a moving vehicle. Getting insurance is a cost of doing business IMO...

I haven't had to use it yet. (knock on wood) but after I spent 10K on equipment I can sleep better knowing that my stuff will be taken care of!

The great think about this protection plans is that if your equipment have any problem or accidental damage the protection plan back up your investment.
