I've had my lens for about 9 months and never thought I'd actually come to use this warranty because I usually keep my things pretty well protected in a case with a lens filter usually carrying the body separate from lenses when traveling. I even thought, how many of these warranties go unused. Anyway, set out for a day of shooting, low and behold, I leave my bag unzipped and my camera drops out with an L-Series on it impacting the front of the lens. Filter cracks and then I notice the lens has has started to crackle too. Messed up the lens so bad couldn't remove the filter. As I start to shed a tear in defeat my world became so surreal but then I remember I was sold on this protection plan and quickly felt so much better about my accident. PEACE OF MIND!!! I sure hope the swap out process goes smooth. Ill keep you posted.

Every time I have this lens exposed to weather a wet blow, when you buy this plan left me a little more comfortable knowing that a lens as expensive as covered by this plan

Got this for peace of mind. Hopefully will not have to use it, but it allows me to be more "free" with my gear. Not careless, but less fearful of it becoming damaged, which allows me to concentrate on taking photographs.

I believe that I am unqualified to write a review aobut this because I havent damaged my lens and needed to use the protection plan yet. "Knock on wood" but I think its a good idea to get a protection plan for your gear especially if your like me and push the limits when photographing on the side of dangerous mountains and in harsh weather.

Bottom line.. It's better to have it and not need it. Than need it and not have it! I speak from experience!!!

got this insurance plan even though i've never even dropped a cell phone, not even once. but when i got myself a $2000 worth Nikkor 14-24, i felt i'm gonna be scared to carry it around unless i feel that should anything happen to it, it would be replaced without additional cost. i honestly don't think i'll ever need to use the insurance because i'm very careful with my gear, but just for the sake of feeling better it's well worth the money. ))
