Quantum Instruments D22wR QTTL Adapter for Select Nikon & Fuji Cameras
The Quantum D22wR QTTL Module provides full TTL communication between Qflash "Digital" flash models and the following Nikon SLR cameras: D700, D2Xs, D2H, D2X, D200, D70, D70s, D80 and Fuji S2, S5. For the D1X, D100 and Fuji S3, only the D12wR can be used.
In addition, when used with the FreeXwire FW9T Transmitter it will allow full wireless operation (i-TTL/3D Matrix) of the Qflash T5d flash model, when combined with a wireless receiver and used with a compatible camera.
QTTL adapters can offset Qflash output between -3 to +2 stops (in 1/3 steps) in relation to the f/number setting on the camera. Even if the camera doesn't support fill/flash ratio, the QTTL ratio setting tracks the camera aperture as it changes, providing automatic fill/flash ratio.

This product worked with my Nikon D90 very well. My first use was for an Engagement photo shoot with Thoroughbred Horses (Kentucky Derby Wedding). The Fill flash worked perfectly. Having the adjustment dial on the top of the unit allowed me to make quick adjustments on the fly. I was worried that the flash would spook the horses, but they were not bothered by it at all. I highly recommend this product.

Just had my Quantum T2D updated by Quantum and bought the adapter to go with it. Provides very consistent exposure control and the dial on top makes it very easy to adjust fill level. Using it with a D2X. The new distance settings also makes it very easy to control where the flash is metering.

If you are going to shoot your photos with the Nikon cameras using a Quantum 5 DR flash this is a must to add to the camera. Using this on the Nikon 3 x I prefer shooting in the Auto mode vs TTL. I also prefer shooting in bare bulb since the flash is distributed evenly on the subjects face as compared to using the Quantum diffuser. Whether you use Audio or TTL the dial on the adapter set around 10am and 4.0 or 5.6 on the 24mm-106 Nikor lens will get you breathtaking results. For far away shots such as a table turn the indicator knob to around 1pm in the afternoon at around 5.6 you will great results. There is no better flash than the Quantum 5dr or the Dw22r QTTL adapter.

I don't really know how to rate a product as this. it interfaced with the Quantum flash easily and certainly functions just as advertised. The upgrade to the Quantum system(albeit heavy)is just what I wanted and needed to tackle the lighting situations faced on special occasions. This adapter certainly creates, or opens all the features of the system.

If you want to have QTTL you will need this to work with the Freewire wireless system to send TTL to your Quantum flash. You will need to select one of the various modes (wireless auto fill) and like magic, it just works!

This is the correct adapter for the Q5D to the Nikon D300. I used my Q5D for years on my D100, but had to buy a new adapter when I bought my D300. I resisted the cost, but am glad I did it. There are just some times the Q5D does a better job then my SB 900 and now I can use it.

This unit does what it is says and easy. One negative thing I'd like to add, is the fact that the plastic construction seems a bit too light weight, As much as you pay for this item, you would think it would be of sturdier plastic. Feels a little on the fragile side. As any pro knows, equipment does take a beating at times!
