I got this replacement plan for a camera I puchased for my daugter. This is the third camera we have purchased in the same amount of years. For some reason, she has had the worst luck with cameras...each lasting only a short time, and of course, soon after the product warranty has expired. This product is half the price of extending the product warranty with the manufacturer. Mu unerstanding is tat this is a replaceent warranty and the way technology advances, I am not sure I would want a broken camera fixed. Much easier and faster to be able to get the poroduct replaced.

I wouldn't give any star if I have a choice. This warranty is not worth the money and it causes nothing but headaches and frustration when you need to send your product to them for repair. You better prepare for rude CSR and it seems they don't know what the technician is doing with your product. You will never get your product back the time they promised. as the matter of fact they never know when your product is going to be repaired or when you are ever going to see it again. They have millions of Bogus excuses to feed you that it is not their fault for not repair your product. If you have money to burn and time to waste on these bunch go ahead buy the warranty.

I was under the impression that this covered accidental damage, which it doesn't. My fault, should have researched it more.
This is just your typical warranty (if anything that isn't a result of your use happens, they'll fix/replace it). I wouldn't buy it, just becuase typically extended warranties tend to be a rip off, but I assume SAGEMAX does its job well. Buying this still made a refurbished lens cheaper than new, so if fear of breakage is your only barrier to buying refurbished, then it's definitely worth it.

I haven't had to use this on my latest purchase, but two years ago I had a camera and the main chip went out. I didn't have the cash for a new camera and figured that I would get the run around with this warranty. Could not have been more wrong. Dealing with Sagemax was so easy. We did some tech work on the phone, I shipped the camera, they gave me an update and fixed it quickly. I was back up and working in no time.
I now buy a Sagemax plan with all of my new equipment. That one time more than justifies the financial risk of having another camera go down.

awesome protection plan. if you have questions, the folks are knowlegeable, easy to understand and know the plan inside and out. when our last DVD player started skipping a lot--they issued us a check, no glitches.
