For those who say "Never purchase a warranty" I say you havent used NEW... I have purchased many items from different retailers using NEW as their replacement provider and never i mean never has it been easier.
ie. I purchased a printer from Office Max and my son spilled juice on it after manufacturers of course.. well one phone call and I had a gift card on the way.. full price plus tax.. that dear people is great coverage.. I had no doubt when I saw NEW as the provider for BH when it came to buying this plan for my light kit. No brainer.. accidental handling? on a mobile piece of equipment?... 32 dollars for piece of mind.. Done Deal !!!

I don't usually get the extended warranties but [...] I bought this as part of the Kit with a digital camera. In this case, it has been over two weeks and I still can't register the product. Here are the things that make this product suspicious about the company (SageMax). 1.) wrong web site address on last part of a product folder. Leaves Max out of Sagemaxprotection (found correct one on another part of folder)., 2.) cannot fully use their website using Safari (had to finally use Internet Explorer. 3.) Can't register the product on web site using every combination of order number, etc. on the invoice. 4.)when I tried to use their on line chat, it is only available 9-5 M-F. That means I have to stop what I am doing at work to call in. Not very customer usable. I have no idea about how easy it will be to use if I have to (filing a claim), but if they can't get the easy stuff right (correct web site printed, usable across different browsers or ease of contacting them by phone), why should I think they will get it right if I have to use the warranty?

I haven't had to use this replacement plan, but my fiance did in the past for her Casio Exilim camera and when the camera broke just prior to 2 years, they sent her a check for the amount she paid. She was able to purchase a Canon SD1400, which she inadvertently dropped less than one year into owning it. The zoom lens wouldn't retract and she didn't get the plan on the second camera, so she's out a couple hundred.
I say get the plan because even if the camera works perfectly, it could always get dropped.

When I first got the product and set it up, it ran just the way it said it would. After a few days, the HDMI port only produced picture but no sound. I called the source supplier (The MFG agent) and was told to return it on an RMA. I did that and am now waiting for them to repair the unit and return it.
