Giottos Standard Large Sandbag 4.4 lb
The Giotto Larg Sandbag is made of high-grade, high strength 1680d nylon double jacquard fabric. It has an internal frame, a handle attachment, and a hidden cord that can be tied to the center column of your stand.
This is a two section, saddle-style sandbag. Each section weighs 2.2 lbs (1 kg), for a total of 4.4 lbs (2 kg). The bags are shipped empty and may be filled with sand or the other heavy material of the user's choice.
- With hook and loop type fasteners
- When in use they can be connected in series, to add to the total weight.

I use the to hold down light stands and especially the reflector holding arm which easily tips if extended at all. sand or led was recommended but we had bags of marble sized rocks and I used those and they work great and heavier than dry sand.

I bought a few sandbags to compare features. I like this brand best. I also bought the larger version, which is also nice.
FWIW, I wanted a compact, heavy weight, so I loaded the bags with lead shot instead of sand. This size is now a 15lb bag.
The velcro straps are thoughtfully arranged, and appear to be well made. I expect to use this one more than the others.

I use this with a lightweight lightstand for strobist lighting with a small umbrella.
I recommend using 2 with an umbrella or small softbox when outside to foil mother natures breezes.
