Bushnell Scout 1000 ARC Laser Rangefinder (Black)
The Bushnell Scout 1000 rangefinder is a small, accurate instrument for measuring distances at the golf course, in the woods, or at a firing range.
The unit has comfortable eye relief and 5x magnification, with some intelligent modes so that you can selectively measure exactly for the distance of the object you seek, and not what is in front of or behind it.
This Scout 1000 rangefinder has angle range compensation capacity, with a built-in inclinometer that displays the rangefinder's angle -60 to +60 from level, and is accurate within one degree. This information, in this model, is integrated into 'bow' and 'rifle' measuring modes-which further tailor the expressed readings to help a bowhunter or rifleman hit their target.

Scout 1000 with ARC, is very beneficial when hunting terrain of hills with shots to be taken into higher or lower areas. Have used also for measuring square yardage of food plot areas. Rangefinder is lightweight and fits in most pockets of any jacket. As advertised, accuracy is within one yard. I find this a good purchase.

I had purchased a so called comparable for about half the price of the Scout 1000 but got less than a quarter of the benefits. So I sent it back and bought the Scout. Fantastic! Accurate distance, with a much more precise object selection plus all the features. Would highly recommend for golf and hunting.

Works as advertised and seems easy to use. The critical performance factor is what you are aiming at. Some things reflect back better than others so there's a learning curve on what to meter on. It's small and comes with a nice case. I use it for photography and figuring depth of field. So far, better images and hope to continue that trend.

If you, like me, have been searching for an affordable and portable device to measure distance and angles when surveying theatres for loudspeaker placement and focus, the Bushnell Scout 1000 is a contender. Easily measure line of sight distance (diagonal), true distance (horizontal), and angle relative to the ground plane.
Device is accurate within a yard/meter which is adequate for most applications.
One feature that is misisng is an internal light. In dark spaces, it is impossible to read the display in the unit.
Overall, a good option and value.

Load the battery, look through the eyepiece, push the button. A second button cycles the custom settings; pick the one you need from a lengthy list contained on the included DVD-ROM; or print everything for your particular caliber. This rangefinder works EXACTLY as advertised. Low light performance was better than expected; some dark objects actually DO reflect the laser beam. It doesn't work well through the dirty windshield glass on my vehicle; so far that's the only problem.
