International orders*When investing in battery-powered studio strobes, there are two modes of thinking required; do you want to continue to use your current packs or invest in a new pack with a battery? The Hensel Visit MPG 1500 Power Generator solves this quandary by providing the best of both worlds to users. It is a DC battery inverter that outputs AC voltage to two standard Edison sockets to allow for currently owned AC strobe monolights, power packs and continuous lights to be powered. Alternately, it should come to no surprise to Hensel users that the Visit MPG 1500 strongly resembles the Hensel Porty DC power pack. As a result of this design kinship, the DC battery drawers are identical and therefore interchangeable between the two units. So for owners of or future investors in the Porty system, this feature is rather invaluable.
Upon further examination of the Visit MPG 1500's features, one will find that the inverter can power one or two different AC devices with a maximum of 300 watts. Power can be distributed to both outlets with AC flash systems that draw up to 500 Joules each. Alternately, the battery can power a 1000 Joule constant draw device, (not peak or burst load like a strobe) in one socket and a strobe that feeds on 500 Joules or less in the other socket. Longevity will vary greatly depending on the device used but an approximation based on a single 500 Joule strobe yields 130 full-power flashes.
There are a number of ways to recharge the lead-gel battery. Using the included 110-240 VAC worldwide adapter is one option but there are also two optional DC to DC devices; the cigarette lighter adapter and 12 VDC battery adapter with alligator clips. These DC chargers are optional purchases and add to the versatility and range of this power system.
