Combined with the built-in diopter on my E-3, the DE-P3 lets me shoot without my eyeglasses. That gets the camera closer to my face, making it easier to frame the shot. The entire optical viewfinder area is clearly visible; the exposure data at the bottom of the OVF are sharp and clearly legible. I let my glasses hang on a strap around my neck while using the OVF -- instead of being smushed against my face getting all smudged up.
Check with an optometrist or optician to see which eyecup -- the DE-P3 (+3 fixed adjustment) or DE-N3 (-3 fixed adjustment) -- fits your needs.
This little gadget won't bring world peace, but it does make taking photos a little easier.
