We picked this up to supplement our D90 more for the fun aspect than anything else -- and it works for that. Not sure if I would use it for anything else. It did have problems with Windows 7 but then again the software isn't entirely for 7 so. . . disappointed that it can't handle .avi files

Comments about Eye-Fi 2GB Share Wireless Secure Digital (SD) Card:
If you were using this on one dedicated network all the time, I think it would be a good buy. My hope was that it could talk to my laptop without being on its "home" network. I'm playing around with trying to turn my MacBook Pro's Airport card around and use as it's "home" network (so I can do it anywhere), but that takes away the fun of not having to initiate the transfer. I do too much traveling around to justify it. Might as well bring the simple USB cable.

Worked great at first, but after a failed upload the card stopped uploading. Now I just use it as a regular SD card, been waiting for two weeks for a reply from the support dept.
As the product is intimately connected to a web administration tool, you need an Internet connection to make any configuration changes.

Comments about Eye-Fi 2GB Share Wireless Secure Digital (SD) Card:
The card is used to automatically transmit your latest photos to your PC (lowest end model), and/or a "service", like "SnapFish" (mid-price), and/or from a select list of hot spots (paid subscription) in the top-end model.
A magazine article about one of these "calling home" and reporting the location of a stolen camera got me interested.
However, it wants an "infrastructure" network only - if you want to send your latest pics to your notebook while on the road, you need a wireless router at the notebook end (something else to pay for, and carry), or need to pay extra for the hotspot version. This was NOT apparent from the descriptions....
I really didn't want to carry the notebook on some trips, and definitely didn't want to pay for the extra router. That I needed to pay extra for the "hotspot" upload capability just wasn't apparent. (They do give you a year's access free.)
I'm still trying to decide whether or not to keep this.... (I may have waited too long at this point.)
That said, it works beautifully at home, although you do have to keep your camera powered up longer than feels right (but wth, the battery in the camera is rechargeable), and seems to be smart enough to deal with "failures" powering down too soon, being out of range in a large home, etc.
I ended up paying extra to be able to automatically send my stuff, via my home network, to SnapFish. Something I could do myself, and with a little editing on my end rather than "online".... Not the end of the world.

This product works, however it is extremely slow and you must be somewhat close to your router. It takes about 4-5 minutes to upload a jpeg "normal" of 3-4mb. It does not support raw files. I was hoping to use it to take clinical photos and present them to patients, as well as to use it in lieu of shooting tethered for portraits but it is much too slow for those purposes. The concept is great but the performance isn't there for my needs.

Because I forgot to downnload my pictures from my camera almost any time I bought the Eye-Fi card, which I now use with my Canon Powershot SD1000.After configuring it for my FlickR account it automatically uploads my photos there and to my Mac Pro.
There's no easier way to store your photos without having any cable connection.

Comments about Eye-Fi 2GB Share Wireless Secure Digital (SD) Card:
The Eye Fi works exactly as advertised. That is, it will transmit images to your PC as well as upload them to your favorite photo site so long as your camera is turned on and is in range of your wireless network. Be aware that you will need an open USB port to plug the receiver into.
It is accompanied by a software management suite.
Set up is quick and easy. Tough to beat the convenience for the price. Highly recommended!
