I use this as a reference monitor on a Kish Viewfinder w/ video module for 35mm feature films. Come on, anyone who expects to use this monitor for judging focus and critical framing for jib arms or the such is expecting far too much from a 2.5 inch screen. Invest in at least a 6" or bigger if you wish to use for actual shooting. Judging focus on any LCD you really need to be thinking of an HD monitor for high end results - not this one.
However for reference, portability, low power consumption, high degree of brightness & contrast for such a small and lightweight package, you can't beat this little gem. I use it outside with very acceptable results. Again, don't expect to be shooting from this monitor, but it is a total winner for quick guidance. Love it, bought 1, then 2 more, and have had them adapted to a 4 pin Hirose connector to accept 12v and video signal in one cable. Awesome.

Cute little guy, a lot smaller than I imagined but that is my fault. Does show an image, and useful for framing out in the field or in a situation you cannot look at the camera to adjust, for example a crane shot. Difficult to you to focus, I have a 35mm adapter for my Panasonic AG HMC40 and did a shoot with both the adapter and this monitor. I thought it was focused but in post in was out of focus.
My on camera monitor does better with sharpness.

Comments about Ikan V-2500E 2.5" LCD Monitor:
Brightness and viewing angles not as good as I hoped it would be. But it does its job, and survived being stepped on despite its plastic build.
Decent monitor to use as framing/in tight spots.
Do remember that 2.5" is tiny, take out your ruler for a preview.

Works fine for 15 minutes with provided battery box and then died.
Couldn't turn it on again, even with provided adapter.

Works great with the cobra crane II... but U need an AC connection. If a battery option where included would be great!

This is my second 2.5 inch monitor I bought. I blew the first one up when I didn't take the time to make sure I had wired the power cable correctly. (Measure twice, cut once kinda thing).
After I got over my anger at myself, I went ahead and ordered another one. It works great, weighs nothing and works well for me as a program monitor on my steadicam. When looking for a small program monitor, it was difficult to find something so small and cheap, so I was happy to find this.

Great little piece here for an awesome price. Use it as a backup for my jib and it's small enough to be unobtrusive, but provides enough detail and clarity for necessary monitor functions.

Very small and works great. I have it running on a 12 volt Lipo battery with a very small video camera also on the same battery and it is great.

I bought this monitor to help me out with some crane shots I needed. It works great, nice contrast even on daylight. My only complaint is that it would be awesome if it worked on batteries instead of wired power.
