The Vixen Optics VMC110L is a sweet little Maksutov-Cassegrain scope with a respectable 4.3" aperture and a stocky housing that is great for travelling. : It is exceptionally light, and does not have a front corrector lens like so many other lesser Catadioptric designs. Its meniscus corrector is inside of the scope, after the primary mirror and just before the secondary mirror in the optical path. This cuts down considerably on the scope's weight, but more importantly allows for super-speedy temperature acclimating and no dewing problems or fussing around with heavy, battery-hogging dew heaters. It is a great little scope for both day and night observing (purchase a 45° erect image adapter for terrestrial use).
The VMC110L is perfect for imaging; it accepts Vixen T-mounts directly upon the rear of the scope, so if you want to use it with your DSLR camera you just need to buy your camera's specific Vixen T-mount.
The VMC110L comes complete with a built-in tube ring and a dovetail mounting foot that attaches directly to any Vixen mount or to Celestron's CG-5 or Meade's LXD75 mounts. Rounding out the package is a 1x red dot finderscope with bracket, a Vixen flip mirror system, and a Vixen 25mm Plössl eyepiece.

Comments about Vixen Optics VMC110L 4.3"/110mm Catadioptric Telescope Optical Tube Assembly:
If one reads the instruction manual it is stated that the collimation screws are held in place with a bit of adhesive and must be loosened with a solvent before adjustment. Otherwise the screws may break off in their threaded sockets.
I have used a friend's model of this scope and it was very easy for him to transport it through the forest in a back pack. Also the flip up mirror system makes for a nice way to peep through the scope without disturbing the camera.
