If you're looking to enhance the bass in your home theater stereo system, the Infinity PS212 Powered Subwoofer represents pure sophistication in high-end powered subwoofers. The low-frequency driver is manufactured with Infinity's Metal Matrix Diaphragm (MMD) technology. This adds unsurpassed rigidity and strength to the front-firing 12" woofer cone, and enables the PS212 to reproduce the tightest "punch" at the highest sound levels in its class.

It features 400W RMS/700W peak power amplification, magnetic shielding, well-braced enclosures, and a wide range of frequencies with superb sound quality and low distortion. It features rear panel level control, phase switch, LFE input, crossover frequency adjustment, and line level inputs. Its stylish design will complement the newest flat-screen Plasma and LCD TVs in your home theater set-up.

Metal Matrix Diaphragm (MMD)
The low-frequency driver incorporates Infinity's MMD technology. MMD consists of a stiff aluminum core, anodized on both sides for superior rigidity and strength. It is 3 times as rigid as titanium, and 85 times more rigid than felted paper. This unique design is capable of eliminating unwanted tonal resonances in the signal path. The end result is a full, clear, tight reproduction of low and high frequencies.
Powerful 400W Digital Amplifier
A powerful 400W RMS/700 peak power amplifier makes this subwoofer an ideal choice for the most demanding of situations. It offers a high power output with high efficiency while maintaining a low distortion signal and tight control of the driver.
Phase Control Switch
The Phase switch determines whether the subwoofer speaker's piston-like action moves in and out with the main speakers. Proper phase adjustment depends on several variables such as room size, subwoofer placement and listener position. Adjust the phase switch to maximize bass output at the listening position.
Low-Pass Selector
This subwoofer offers a Low-Pass switch that essentially adjusts for low-frequency effects (LFE) single output, and L/R subwoofer dual outputs from your receiver.
Magnetically Shielded
The housing is designed with magnetic shielding, preventing undesirable interference that causes distortion.

Comments about Infinity PS212 12" Powered Subwoofer (Black):

This thing is a titan. I have it at like a "2"...and yet it continuously threatens to tear my house down.

No feedback, it doesn't get wobbly or give up on deep bass. Movies are perfect, music is good (not great...although it depends what type of music).

I have a 7.1 surround sound system and this is my second infinity sub I will be installing.(now 7.2 surround system) I hook up surround sound systems for all of my friends and this is one of the better subs. I have used jbl subs, polk subs, klipsch subs, sony, pioneeer etc. as long as you stick with a good brand you should be pleased.

Comments about Infinity PS212 12" Powered Subwoofer (Black):

Home Theater Concert sound I have 4 of these along with 4 JBL4310 subs.
The unit looks very well built. The plate amplifer unit has a design flaw that appears several months after daily use. Speaker smokes after several months of usage. Lower max gain each time to help prevent smoking speaker. (Replaced 3 speakers)Lowered max gain less than half & finally no power to amp, fuse blown and output board blown, (black fused burnt spot on board). Being a low frequency freak I wouldn't recommend.

I have 6 Infinity bookshelf speakers in my room and when I added this sub about 4 months ago I was very impressed how much it rounded out the sound of my music. I have it powered down to about half and it pumps out low tones and makes every explosion in movies come alive. I've always been a proud buyer of Infinity and I'm glad to say that haven't let me down!

Comments about Infinity PS212 12" Powered Subwoofer (Black):

[$] It is constructed very well and sounds GREAT!! The gain does not need to be turned up much at all to get a lot of sound so be careful when setting the gain, it ships all the way up. Mine blended nicely with my system turned up only 1/3. My only concern is reliability I have and still do own several HK subwoofers (JBL, Infinity) and have had problems with the electronics in almost all of them. HK has a good warranty 5 years on loud speaker and 3 on electronics so they have always fixed them for me just be sure to keep your receipt.
